We all have small problems - the odd creak in our rusty armor - but rarely do we think it's anything serious.

For example, if you were to get a headache, you'd probably just think you were slightly dehydrated, or perhaps been looking at your phone too long - very rarely would you think, "There's probably a spider living in my ear..."

But for one woman, she was stunned to discover that her headaches were indeed being caused by a real spider living in her ear canal.

This is the moment a spider crawls out of a woman's ear:

It's the kind of story that's enough to make you lock yourself in your bedroom, ears stuffed with cotton wool, rocking back and forth because any trip to the store could result in spider contact and, by extension, a spider to the ear.

And for poor Lekshmi from India, this was indeed a reality.

Now, before you decide to become a hermit, it's worth noting that her problem's cause does make sense, even if it's still horrifying.

Lekshmi would often relax by taking naps on her veranda, and - you guessed it - while she was busy snoozing, a little spider crawled by and decided her ear looked like a pretty snug home.

The horrifying discovery was made when she visited a hospital in Karnataka because of a headache.

The Indian Express reported that Lekshmi's doctor, Dr. Santosh Shivaswamy, an ENT Consultant, said that while it's not unusual for people to get things lodged in their ears (Q-tips are a common example), he and his team had never encountered anyone with an eight-legged freak in theirs.

(That being said, this little fella is oddly adorable.)

"I was terrified as I could feel [the] movement of a creature in my ear. The acute ear ache followed by sharp pains suffocated me," Lekshmi recalled.

"I couldn't think of anything and was petrified when the doctor confirmed [the] presence of a spider in my ear."
