Angelina Jolie's 'zombie doppelgänger' leave fans puzzled with 2018 Halloween look
Late last year, the world was stunned when photographs of a young Iranian girl called Sahar Tabar emerged online. According to reports, she had undergone numerous cosmetic surgeries in a bid to look like her idol Angelina Jolie. The result, however, was nothing short of monstrous, and people around the world questioned why any plastic surgeon would go this far.
With a crooked out of proportion nose, lips that could rival even the world's biggest filler addict, and a weight that was rumored to be as low as 88 lbs (and that's not to mention her bizarre use of colored contact lenses), people raised concerns about Tabar's mental health - suggesting that she might be suffering from an extreme form of body dysmorphia and/or anorexia.
And given that Jolie herself is no stranger to eating disorders, the fact that Tabar supposedly said that she was wearing light blue contact lenses in a bit to emulate the A-lister's eye color, on the surface, it appeared that she'd taken her celebrity obsession to a level that had never been seen before - and to this day, she still looks just - if not more - monstrous.
To see the disturbing look that Tabar dawned for Halloween 2018, check out the video below:
"Somebody buy her a mirror," wrote one user on Tabar's Instagram, while another typed, "Tim Burton does surgery now?"
But even though Tabar has been subject to almost every type of criticism imaginable, even at the beginning of her viral fame, she defended her look, captioning one of her pictures, "Do not be afraid to be different, be afraid to be like everyone else."
But despite the initial report that Tabar would "do anything" to look like Jolie, she said that was never her intention. "I did not even think about being like Jolie. Also, I did not want to resemble the cartoon character the Corpse Bride," she said.
The teenager also revealed that while she has had plastic surgery, the extent of the work she's had done was exaggerated - something which some people did suggest when her pictures first emerged, implying that they were either the result of makeup or prosthetics, with perhaps a little plastic surgery too, and it turns out that they were completely right.
"This is Photoshop and makeup," Tabar revealed. "Every time I publish a photo, I paint my face in an increasingly funny way. It is a way of expressing yourself, a kind of art. My fans know that this is not my real face."
The great irony of Tabar's story, however, is that if there was any truth to her obsession with Angelina Jolie, prior to undergoing her Corpse Bride makeover (if you can call it that), she actually bore more than a few similarities to the star.
When examining Tabar's altered pictures, people speculated that she'd had as many as 50 cosmetic procedures. Whereas, in reality, she'd had just three - namely, lip plumping, nose contouring, and liposuction.
"I have had my nose operated, my lips were enlarged and I also had a liposuction. I do not see anything terrible in the operations, many people do this kind of procedures all over the planet," Tabar said.
While there's no doubt that Tabar's zombie looks aren't for everyone, it's hard to deny that she is a talented makeup artist. After all, she had half the world fooled for a while. Perhaps she should release a series of Corpse Bride tutorials next Halloween?
One thing's for sure - Tabar's bizarre looks have garnered her quite the following and she has 75.6K followers on Instagram.
But her orange-haired bride look was not the only outfit that she sported this Halloween. She also dressed up as a nun!
What do you think of Tabar's latest look? Did it have a patch on your Halloween costume? Or do you prefer to use the holiday as an excuse dress up as something fun (and sexy) instead of making yourself look genuinely scary?
Who knows? If she keeps her Corpse Bride looks up, it's only a matter of time before someone dresses up as her.
