Anna Faris and Chris Pratt are in couples counseling
It's been a tough month for love. After the veritable dream couple, Chris Pratt and Anna Faris announced their separation, all of us who heralded them as "couple goals" were left disillusioned. "What is love" we pondered during our morning commute and "is it all a great lie" we existentially questioned into the early hours of the morning...
After all, not only were Anna and Chris the most adorable couple, but they were also rather unbelievably down-to-earth for how successful and famous they are. So we of course sobbed into our iPhones when Anna took to her personal Twitter account to post the following announcement:
“We are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still love each other and will always cherish our time together."
However, it now appears that Anna and Chris have re-evaluated the situation and are trying to repair their relationship via attending couples therapy. I mean, after eight years of marriage and a five-year-old son, you're going to want to make it work.
A close friend of the couple disclosed the information in the latest issue of Life & Style magazine and added that the timing couldn't be better as Pratt has just wrapped on two big projects, Avengers: Infinity War and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
The insider added:
'They have committed to it. They are trying to keep the pressure low by doing it out of the spotlight, but there is still a lot of love between them.'
Another source revealed that the Anna and Chris are still living together, in the Los Angeles home where they raised their son, Jack.
It's been widely speculated that the couple's rift is related to Chris Pratt's ascent to superstardom. When they first met back in 2007, Pratt was hardly a household name, whilst Faris was well known for her roles in popular romantic comedies.
However, since appearing on the hit television show, Parks and Recreation, Pratt gained international recognition and later appeared in several hollywood blockbusters including Guardians of the Galaxy and the science fiction drama, Passengers.
Certainly, the unnamed insider added:
"It’s been very intense, with Anna discussing how she feels isolated with Chris gone so much of the time and her career taking a backseat [...] Chris gets frustrated because Anna is in the industry, too, and knew the commitments involved when she married him."
Well, we can only hope that Anna and Chris are able to work out their issues in couples therapy. I mean, it would be a shame for them to part after being married for eight wonderful years.
And yes, without wanting to sound too selfish, it would be lovely to see a Hollywood duo that are as lovely as Chris Pratt and Anna Faris get their happily-ever-after.
