Anna Faris speaks out for the first time since her separation from Chris Pratt
Mark August 6th in your calendar as it's sure to become a national holiday where we cry and reflect on all the heartbreak and unrequited love we have endured and oh, still be upset about the fact that Anna Faris and Chris Pratt have broken up. If you missed the memo, Anna and Chris proved that "love" is just one big sham when they publicly announced their separation on August 6th.
Not only were Chris and Anna just about the most adorable couple ever, but they were so astoundingly down-to-earth for how successful and famous they are. So naturally we all shed a tear (or several) when Anna posted the following announcement on her Twitter account:
“We are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still love each other and will always cherish our time together."
Understandably, Anna and Chris have remained tight-lipped about the situation, but Anna did give us a little insight on some of the reasons behind the split on an episode of her podcast, Unqualified.
Anna opened the podcast by thanking her fans for their support in the aftermath of the shocking announcement. "Hey, dear listeners", she said, "I just want to thank you all so much for all the love I’ve been receiving, and I truly love you."
The podcast, which claims to give "not-so-great relationship advice from completely unqualified hollywood types" turned to doling out that "not-so-great relationship advice", but it quickly became apparent that Anna was talking from personal experience...
Whilst giving relationship advice to a caller, Anna paused before insightfully saying, "life is too short to be in relationships where where you feel this isn't fully right, or somebody doesn't have your back, or somebody doesn't fully value you in every way."
She added, "don't [be] afraid to feel your independence if things aren't right."
And then it got very personal when Anna started referring to her relationship with the Parks and Recreation star, Chris Pratt:
"I made that mistake, I think, a little bit, feeling like, "I’m checking my relationship off the list." And...the final advice that I could give you would be: Know your worth. Know your independence. Know that you're young and there's so many people out there. There's so much life experience. I hope you get to live it all."
The couple have a young son called Jack, who was born in 2012.
We understand that this is undoubtedly a very difficult time for both parties involved and hope that the two can keep the separation as amicable as possible.
