Conor McGregor shows off his 'wealth belly' while on holiday in Ibiza
Every year, for the months of June, July and August, there are people out there eschewing delicious ice cream and barbecue food in an attempt to craft the perfect "Summer Bod". Of course, when on holiday and subjected to the gazes of attractive men and women by the pool, some people want to look their best in a swimsuit. I get it.
I'm not one of those people, however. To paraphrase Louis CK, I've realised that the best way to get the body I want is to want a really s***ty body. So every summer, as everyone sheds the pounds I put them on; guzzling down various hot and cold treats, sweating profusely in the summer heat.
By the time September and October roll around, I've got myself quite the summer belly. In my honest opinion, it's the best way to spend summer, and one famous fighter tends to agree with me.
Conor McGregor may not be as aesthetically-challenged as I am, with the 29-year-old being an top-level athlete and me... decidedly not that. If his recent photos from his trip to Ibiza are any indication, however, he too enjoys like to gorge on the good stuff on holiday, showing off a pretty impressive gut in the process, rubbed lovingly by his partner Dee Devlin.
Rather than letting his newfound belly get the MMA fighter down, Conor McGregor seems to be having a pretty good time on holiday, and his Instagram post featuring McGregor, Devlin and their new food baby features the caption: "You need to get yourself a wealth belly, kid. It's the new six pack."
Of course, one of the main differences between Conor McGregor's belly and mine is the fact that (among other things) McGregor's paunch has come about by way of some much nicer (and more expensive) food. Going by other photos on McGregor's Instagram, it's not hard to see how this wealth belly came to be, with the 29-year-old chowing down on some delicious-looking food on a boat.
As we all know, McGregor took on boxer Floyd Mayweather quite recently, losing out by TKO at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevadas. He's expected to pocket around $75 million for that fight, contributing to his estimated $34 million net worth (according of Forbes' 2017 rich list) and his status as the highest-paid MMA fighter of all time.
After making his boxing debut, Conor McGregor's next fight next fight is expected to be back in the UFC against Eddie Alvarez, but ahead of that fight, you can definitely allow Conor McGregor a bit of down time after an eventful and very successful 2017.
Not only has he crossed over to boxing and performed admirably against one of the greats, Conor McGregor also became a father for the first time when he welcomed Conor McGregor Jr to the world back in May. It's been a very good year for one of fighting's biggest names at the moment, and as we've seen with his holiday photos, he's really taking the opportunity to enjoy himself.
