But now, the pop-star has revamped her appearance once more - only it's so drastic that her fans can't even recognise her.

Britney Spears has been announced as the face of French fashion house Kenzo's latest collection, and she recently posed for a series of promotional photos.

Kenzo unveiled the campaign yesterday, and it stars the Queen of Pop in their La Collection Memento N°2 line. The collection is dedicated to the brand's original creator, Kenzo Takada, which means that it features a lot of denim as a throwback to the 70's - perfect you may think for Britney, who had been known to don a Canadian tuxedo from time to time.

However, wearing the likes of brightly coloured sweatshirts, caps and eclectic footwear, the 36-year-old looked rather different to usual, in both the photos and accompanying video.

Britney's fans were baffled by the shoot, and some didn't even realise that it was the Toxic singer in the first place. "This does not look like Britney," one Twitter user asserted, while another added "I'm so glad I'm not the only one who noticed that she doesn't look like the same person. Her and a handful of other celebrities have turned into other people out of nowhere..."

A third user wrote, "THANK YOU! I thought the same thing - many of these photos look like Jessica Simpson. Certainly doesn't look like Britney".

The campaign video only confused people more, and one social media user even went so far to state that Britney had evidently gotten plastic surgery. "How much plastic surgery did this chick go through? Her face is completely different. More fake images for girls to "look up to"," he stated.

31-year-old Los Angeles resident, Bryan Ray, is so obsessed with Britney that he's had over 90 procedures to get her "all American" look. "Ever since I was young there was something about Britney Spears and the qualities she had that I thought was the perfect package," he explained.

"Britney will always be one of my biggest inspirations, I love that she was the biggest star in the world, went through an incredibly hard time and came out on top."
