When you've been in the movie industry as long as Russell Crowe has, and seen his level of success, you're going to end up with a lot of stuff you don't need. Plenty of these items will be pointless purchases you were tempted into buying, but you would also end up with a plethora of props and memorabilia from movie productions over the years.

Now, after over 30 years in show business, Crowe has put up 227 of his personal items up for auction at Sothebys Australia. From his films such as Gladiator and Les Miserables, as well as expensive artwork, trophies and jewellery, there are some quite odd entries into the sale too...

1. A life-size prop horse from Gladiator

Estimated to sell for $2,000 - $4,000

2. The 'angel' doll from The Sum of Us

Along with a signed photo, estimated to cost $400 – $600.

3. The boxer's protector from Cinderella Man

$500 - $600.

4. A Muhammad Ali plaster relief life cast face plaque

$800 - $1,200.

5. The back of the set chair from American Gangster

$400 - $600.

6. Brass-bound oak nautical rum cask

$2,000 - $3,000

7. Fully-functioning Roman chariot replica from Gladiator

$5,000 to $10,000.

8. Denzel Washington's set chair back from American Gangster

$400 - $600.

9. 2001 Mercedes-Benz S500 Saloon

$15,000 - $25,000.

10. A mounted Mosasaur skull

$35,000 - $40,000.

So, if you ever fancied owning a gigantic dinosaur skull (and you have forty grand to spare), you can buy one from Russell Crowe when the auction commences on April 8 this year. If not - just become a movie star, and you'll end up with some ridiculous props like these one day.
