Adam Sandler doesn't seem to be in the public eye much lately. It's not as if he isn't working in the movie business anymore - in fact, he's churning out comedies like it's nobody's business. Back in 2014, the actor inked a massive deal with Netflix - agreeing to produce and star in four films to be made available exclusively on the streaming platform, and in 2017 he re-upped his contract to make four more.

It's not a bad gig - Netflix seem to give a lot of artists the money and freedom they need to make whatever they want - but is a step back from showbusiness in a lot of ways. “When these fine people came to me with an offer to make four movies for them, I immediately said ‘yes’ for one reason and one reason only... Netflix rhymes with ‘wet chicks,'” the actor said in a statement in 2014, adding "Let the Streaming begin!"

However, despite his live shows and endless stream of movies, he's not often spotted in the public - or at least, not to the same level of some of his fellow entertainers. Despite this, he was spotted recently in a surprising situation. By complete chance, he came across a couple having their wedding photos done, and simply couldn't resist joining in.

The Montreal newlyweds, Alexandra Steinberg and Kevin Goldstein, were taking shots on the stairs of a hotel on Sunday before the bride spotted the actor nearby.

Along with wedding photographer Sana Belgot, who was taking the scenic shots, the couple were surprised when he came over to congratulate them.

The self-proclaimed Sandler fans were thrilled to see him, and even got the actor (and his ridiculous moustache) to join in with a couple of their photos.

They managed to get a few shots with him that will be hard to forget, memorialised in their wedding album for years to come.

Alexandra and Kevin reportedly invited Sandler to stay for the wedding but he politely declined the invitation. The photos quickly went viral, with numerous people reposting the photos. Now, we only have to wait for the memes to come in, as Sandler has given the internet some prime material so far.

Of course, the photos spread all across Twitter, who absolutely loved it - with some praising the actor, while others wondering still wondering what he's doing these days.

Honestly, if you were Adam Sandler, you would probably do the same. If you knew that everyone knew who you were from sight, it would be a lot of fun to take part in the shoot if they asked you to join. I'm not sure why they asked him to attend their wedding; no matter how much you like a celebrity, do you really want a celebrity stealing all your thunder?
