Adele and Jennifer Lawrence turned up at a gay bar and people loved it
Even when you live in a large metropolitan city like London or Los Angeles, where plenty of celebrities and powerful people in the entertainment industry live, it doesn't mean you're knocking elbows with the biggest stars every other night. In fact, people living in places like that can go years without spotting anyone - and when they do, it might be someone that only some people know.
The people at Pieces Bar in New York City on Friday night do not have this problem.
In fact, you can bet that when they tell the story of how they met these two women, everybody knew exactly who they were talking about. A celeb spotting is one thing, but when they actually party with you? That's next level.
Adele and Jennifer Lawrence, two of the most successful and talented women in their field, turned up to the Greenwich Village gay bar last night - and it looked like it went down a storm.
I just partied with Jennifer Lawrence and Adele... I am speechless," one person tweeted, while another took the humble brag option, writing: "Randomly getting turnt with JeLaw and Adele. NBD."
Of course, there were plenty of cameras on hand that night to capture the moment - with plenty of videos of them flooding Twitter.
They didn't just show up and take a few photos with fans - these two were playing drinking games and accepting forfeits in front of the crowd.
The bar's host, drag queen Brita Filter (great name, by the way) asks her "ready to mingle and have a great time with the gays tonight?" to which she replies "f***ing obviously."
Then, the singer is asked what she does, and replies "I'm a stay-at-home mum."
And it looks like they really went for it:
And Twitter has all the videos:
A lot of people were pretty disappointed that there were people out there who got this surprise visit, while their Friday nights out were a lot more run-of-the-mill.
"Why can’t Jennifer Lawrence and Adele randomly show up at one of the drag shows I’m at," one person tweeted.
Adele and Jennifer have apparently been good friends since they bonded at the Academy Awards ceremony back in 2013, the year that where Adele won Best Original Song for her theme song to the James Bond movie Skyfall.
Jennifer Lawrence was the one who presented her performance of the award-winning song - and also picked up a Best Actress win that same night for Silver Linings Playbook.
A few years back, Lawrence even said that Adele was her dream karaoke partner. "One: because she's fun. Two: because she can drink. Three: because I can just lip sync," she said in the interview.
After this night - which reportedly lasted into the early hours of Saturday morning - it looks like she was right on all fronts.
