If you're looking for a frustrating way to start your day, I recommend watching Good Morning Britain. Sanctimonious gasbag Piers Morgan co-hosts the show, and often savagely attacks young women. However, this time the British blowhard was masterfully roasted by American treasure Ariana Grande.

It all started when Piers slammed Ellen DeGeneres - yes, Ellen, the dancing, adorable puppy dog of daytime TV. On International Men's Day, the affable talk show host ran a segment celebrating male celebrities. She showed salivating photos of beefcakes like Idris Elba, Chris Hemsworth, Ryan Gosling - you get the idea. But Piers had a different take on the bit, tweeting, "Ellen drooling today over famous men's bodies on #InternationalMensDay2018. Yet I've been abused all day for complimenting @hollywills on her legs."

This is the clip of Ellen which ruffled Piers' feathers so much:

The next day, Piers criticized British pop group Little Mix, which is comprised of four women. (Noticing a trend here?) To promote their song 'Strip', the ladies did a nude photoshoot were words like "ugly," "fat," and "irrelevant" are written on their skin. Piers noticed the photo was similar to a magazine cover the Dixie Chicks made in 2003 and accused them of stealing the idea.

Ariana Grande's mother, Joan, called Piers out for his critical comments, tweeting: "Honestly what is wrong with you @piersmorgan? Didn't your mother ever teach you, if you have nothing to say, don't say it! You came for @TheEllenShow yesterday which was disgraceful, she is an angel. @LittleMix today, did you ever hear of paying homage? And… well never mind."

Piers replied, "Hi Joan, my mother taught me to speak my mind & never be afraid to express an honestly held opinion. Ellen's a hypocrite - and as for Little Mix, I'd just prefer they use their talent to sell records rather than their nudity." Then he fired this ill-conceived cheap shot: "As your own daughter does…!"

Lucky for us, and unlucky for Piers, Billboard's Woman of the Year had some free time to defend herself. She tweeted, "Ellen is an incredible & kind human being.. I use my talent AND my sexuality all the time because i choose to. women can be sexual AND talented. naked and dignified. it's OUR choice. ? & we will keep fighting til people understand. i say this w all due respect but thank u, next [sic]."

Piers replied that it was "lovely" to hear from Ariana, and doubled down on his prudish argument. He claimed the 'God Is A Woman' singer "use[s] nudity to sell records to impressionable young female fans."

Ariana fired back, "i look forward to the day you realize there are other ways to go about making yourself relevant than to criticize young, beautiful, successful women for everything they do. i think that'll be a beautiful thing for you and your career or what's left of it. ?  [sic]" (Ouch!)

In her next tweet, Ariana pointed out Piers' hypocrisy, by referencing the time he posed nude for clickbait. (Warning: What you see... you cannot see.)

Piers joked back, "Is that your screensaver?" To which Ariana hilariously replied, "nah and it ain't ur girls' either i can promise u that [sic]." Then, for her final message, she quoted her own epic break-up song: "thank u fuckin next." (No, thank you, Ariana!)

What's that clanking sound you hear? Ariana dropping the mic, of course.

I mean, it's not like this is the first time that Piers has came to blows with the 25-year-old songstress. Last year, in the wake of the Manchester Arena bombing at an Ariana concert, he criticized the singer for her immediate reaction to an atrocity in which 22 of her fans lost their lives.

As far as the loudmouth was concerned, the clearly traumatized singer was wrong to leave the country immediately after the attack. In his opinion, she should have stayed and visited her injured fans in hospital.

However, on a later episode of This Morning, he admitted that he misjudged the star and said that it was brave of her to put on a benefit concert for the victims some two weeks later - a day after yet another terrorist attack in London.

This is the moment Piers ate his words:

So, what do you think? Is this another incident where Piers is doing to admit that he's wrong?

After all, true feminism is about absolute bodily autonomy - and sexuality is a part of that. If Little Mix, or any other singer, wants to use their sexuality as part of their art, more power to them.

Pick your battles, Piers!
