When it comes to tattoos, Ariana Grande has had something of a rocky history. Last year, she got matching tattoos with her short-term fiancé, Pete Davidson. When the two broke up, however, she then covered one of them up with a tribute to her late ex, Mac Miller. Then, after all that, she got matching tattoos with Davidson again though, this time, they both got the same cover-up (a black heart) of artwork they used to have for one another.

Needless to say, it was a very tempestuous time for Grande and her various pieces of ink, and anyone else in her situation might be tempted to hold off from getting anymore tattoos for the time being.

The 25-year-old singer had other plans, however, and recently revealed a brand new Pokémon tattoo she's had added to her bicep.

For those who aren't entirely familiar with Pokémon, this little critter is an Eevee - one of the original 151 Pokémon that Grande was probably very familiar with as a kid if she ever collected the cards or played the video games. It fits pretty well with Grande's aesthetic: it's cute and cuddly, but also can be pretty feisty in a battle.

And before you go accusing her of being a fake gamer girl who probably only picked Eevee because of its adorable appearance, you might want to know that the Thank U, Next singer recently revealed that she still plays some of the games in the Pokémon franchise.

After a fan asked what games she liked to play on her Nintendo Switch, she responded: "honestly. yesterday i had a day off and i played pokémon let’s go eevee for fifteen hours. honestly." And as someone who only wishes they had enough time to play on a Switch for 15 hours (and, of course, enough money to buy one in the first place), I have to respect that.

Considering the backstory to some of her other tattoos, too, this piece of work is a little more positive than most of her pieces! Of all her artwork, though, one of the sweetest tats she has is probably the sun and mood she got on her hand - not only because she got it in celebration of winning the Woman of the Year award at the Billboard Women In Music awards last month, but because she did so with her Nanna in tow.

Grande's grandma also got a tattoo to mark the occasion, but went with a slightly subtler piece: her late husband's Frank Grande's nickname - Ciccio - written on the inside of her ring finger.

Considering all the tats Grande already has, it's unlikely that Eevee will be her last addition.
