Before Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin, there was Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson - and by that I mean: another couple who proceeded to shack up after a whirlwind romance. Certainly, while 2018 has seen many carcasses of relationships we once labelled "golden", these two engagements have helped prove that love isn't wholly over.

It hasn't come without its fair share of drama, however. After their breakup, Grande's ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller, was arrested for drunk driving, crashing into a pole and attempting to flee the scene on foot - all with a blood alcohol content that was twice the legal limit. And it's something that many people attribute to his split from the pop-star.

In fact, some of Grande's fans have gone so far as to insinuate that the pop-star was responsible for Miller's meltdown. A tweet which went viral read: "Mac Miller totalling his G wagon and getting a DUI after Ariana Grande dumped him for another dude after he poured his heart out on a ten song album to her called the divine feminine is just the most heartbreaking thing happening in Hollywood."

Of course, Grande was having none of this. She responded to the tweet with an impassioned note, wherein she asserted that her relationship with the American rapper was "toxic".

"How absurd that you minimize female self-respect and self-worth by saying that someone should stay in a toxic relationship because he wrote an album about them, which [by the way] isn’t the case (just 'Cinderella' is [about] me)," the 24-year-old wrote.

"I am not a babysitter or a mother and no woman should feel that they need to be. I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety & prayed for his balance for years (and always will of course) but shaming/blaming women for a man’s inability to keep his shit together is a very major problem. Let’s please stop doing that. Of course I didn’t share about how hard or scary it was while it was happening, but it was. I will continue to pray from the bottom of my heart that he figures it all out and that any other woman in this position does as well."

Since then, it's apparent that Grande has moved on. She's confirmed her engagement to Pete Davidson, and now she's even sporting a brand new look.

Much like her relationship with the aforementioned SNL star, Grande's hair change is impulsive, dramatic, but also seems to totally work.

Yes, lavender looks amazing on Grande, and it fits the aesthetic of her new album very nicely indeed. As such, it's no surprise that her fans were all for the new 'do.

"Ariana Grande with her new hair color looks so stunning," one Twitter user wrote, while another corroborated: "Ariana Grande with lavender hair, breathe if you agree."

A third added: "Ariana Grande with lilac hair RT if you agree."

Although we don't know whether Grande's new style is permanent yet, it sure works for right now.
