Bebe Rexha has hit back at a troll who referred to her as "tubby" after she posted a photo to social media.

The 29-year-old shared a picture of herself to Instagram with the caption "Unapologetically me" a photo of her performance in Cannes, France. But, while the post got more than 350,000 likes in the space of 18 hours, not everyone was complimentary.

"You're gaining a lot of weight tubby," wrote one Instagram user by the name of @qlcing, with after another troll also commenting on her weight on Twitter.

Rather than let those attempts to get under her skin go unpunished, Rexha decided to respond emphatically.

"I don't give a two s***s about what people think about my weight. I care about what I think about my weight," she responded on Twitter.

She continued: "To all the people tweeting mean things to me about my weight you just want a response and you will not get it. Unless you are completely perfect you have no f**kin right to talk about anybody else’s body. The hate you breed that stems from Insecurity don’t look pretty on you."

This comes after the singer, nominated for two Grammy Awards this year, revealed that some designers refused to make clothing for her because of her weight.

On social media, she said she had gotten "a text saying that a lot of the big designers and the showrooms, the houses that hold the clothes, didn’t want to dress me because they consider me too big".

"I am a UK size 12, I like my curves. It hurt me because I’ve struggled with my weight all my life, especially being in the music business, looks are an important thing but you also want to be healthy," she said.
