Blake Lively hits back at Ryan Reynolds with epic Valentine's Day trolling of her own
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are the ultimate Hollywood couple. Not only are they both successful in their own right as actors in the biggest movies and TV shows around, but they bring a sense of humour to every social media post, individually and when they come together. In fact, a lot of people know them best for how much they troll each other on Instagram and Twitter.
There was the time that Time Magazine honored Ryan Reynolds, with him being brushing shoulders with the world's finest on their list of the 100 Most Influential People of the Year. However, Lively's congratulations poked fun at her husband rather than being as warm and fuzzy as we'd expect her to be.
Then, when it comes to their birthdays, neither of them can keep a straight face and post something sappy and sentimental. For instance, when Blake turned 30, her husband posted a carefully cropped photo, as he wished a "Happy Birthday to my amazing wife".
When it came to be Ryan's 41st birthday, his wife turned the tables on him. Writing "Happy birthday, baby", her revenge saw her pull a similar cropping trick - but with a twist. It turned out that while he did feature in the photo, the center of attention is a different Hollywood Ryan...
Earlier this year, Lively spoke about exactly what makes the pair get on so well. According to the actress, who married Reynolds in 2012 and has since had two daughters with him, this comes down to understanding. Speaking to Good Morning America, she said:
"In general, it's nice to have someone who understands what you're doing. Especially because our job is so weird—you have to be 'married' to other people, it's all so strange. It's never normal, even when you're both doing it."
The star couple aren't stopping any time soon, either, as their hilarious Valentine's messages to one another go to show. Earlier this week, on the special day, Reynolds posted a photo of himself on Instagram with the gift he had made for Blake: a Valentine's cake.
In the caption, he wrote: "I bake this cake for my wife. The icing is glue, 'cause I'm not a scientist". The photo has already struck a chord with his followers, with nearly two million likes already. But now Lively has gotten back with some light-hearted trolling of her own.
A later post Reynolds put up on the photo-sharing platform was a shot of him in the gym, looking at his hands. As is his way, he made a joke out of it, adding the caption: "Ten minutes in to writing an email to my mom, when I realized there was no phone in my hand."
That's when Lively added her perfect reply:
