Two weeks ago, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds's relationship was virtually sacrosanct. The voyeurs of the world greatly enjoyed peeking into their perfect relationship - as they threw loving barbs at each other, and raised their two adorable daughters - all the while starring in a slew of commercially successful ventures and being gifted with Hollywood-worthy good looks.

However, with the news that Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan and calling it quits after nine years of marriage, it appears that even the most #CoupleGoals of pairings aren't safe. Certainly, there has been much tabloid speculation that all is not as it seems in the Lively-Reynolds household.

A gossip website recently tweeted out, "Deadpool Ryan Reynolds and wife Blake Lively struggling to spend 'quality time'". The 41-year-old was quick to respond to the rumours - with his trademark sense of humour, of course. "I wish. I could use a little 'me time," he wrote.

However, the rumour mill persisted, and Reynolds was forced to shut it down once more. It all worked out okay though, because he managed to troll his mum in the process.

Last week, Yahoo Entertainment tweeted out: "Ryan Reynolds (@vancityreynolds) joins Blake Lively and his mom on red carpet after shutting down split rumours".

The Deadpool star responded by saying, "We’re never splitting. She’ll always be my mom. No matter how much jazz-cabbage she smokes with her rollerblading friends."

While this should have been enough to dispel the notion that there's strife in Blake and Ryan's marriage, Lively felt the need to take charge yesterday evening. Though she didn't explicitly refer to the rumours, she did take aim at her husband in their usual endearing way - proving that everything is perfectly fine.

The actor took to Instagram to post a photograph of the two smiling at each other - I mean, how adorable, right? Well, not exactly, because rather than waxing lyrical about how proud she is of her husband, Blake took the opportunity to praise her hairstyling skills.

"If there’s one thing I’m infinitely proud of in this picture, it’s the incredible hair styling that I did on myself," the 30-year-0ld asserted.

You see folks, Blake and Ryan are absolutely fine. Sheesh.

Lively recently opened up about one of the reasons why she and Reynolds work so well together, and it has to do with understanding how "bizarre" the whole Hollywood shindig is. "In general, it's nice to have someone who understands what you're doing," she said on a Good Morning America interview. "Especially because our job is so weird—you have to be 'married' to other people, it's all so strange. It's never normal, even when you're both doing it."

So while it does seem like everyone is breaking up, and that "love" writ large is under attack, I think that while Blake and Ryan are still going strong everything will be alright.
