Michael B. Jordan, after years of great work in the realm of acting, is finally getting his dues. Best known either for his lead role in 2015's Creed or as the antagonist Killmonger in Black Panther earlier this year, he has started to land bigger and bigger roles. However, it's worth noting that this is the man that was putting in a scene-stealing performance at the age of 15 in The Wire, so it's about damn time.

Then, of course, there was his incredible performance in Fruitvale Station, the debut film from Black Panther director Ryan Coogler - and it all adds up to an actor with a lot of well-deserved star power. After his character Killmonger impressed audiences earlier this year, things were elevated to the next level.

Back in April, one high school student was having the age-old problem of deciding who she should take as her date to prom. Rather than settling for one of the ruffians in her class, when her long-distance boyfriend dropped out last minute, 17-year-old Audeva Agyeman went to the top of her list, taking Michael B Jordan - or, a cardboard cut-out of him, at least.

"After not being able to get a prom date from procrastinating and waiting til the last minute, i spent 3 hours making my sexy prom date," Audeva said on Twitter. Soon enough, the tweet went viral, and after it made its way to Instagram, the actor himself caught wind of it, commented: "this is called commitment!"

A few months on, Jordan is currently starting to promote his next film, Creed II, which set to be out later in 2018. As a trat, Audeva was invited to the set for the sequel, where she had been told to recount what had happened with her prom date.

She was also told that Jordan couldn't make it to the set that day, but was happy to come along anyway. That's when Jordan decided to drop the surprise...

"I had to surprise @de.gye after hearing about her taking me (kinda. Lol) to Prom," Michael captioned the moment on Instagram. "She had no idea we would bring her to the set of @creedmovie but you know I had to show her some love since I couldn’t actually be her date."

This isn't even a first for Jordan, who has connected with his biggest fans in the past. Sylvia Wilson, a student at Temple University, one day decided to slide into his DMs by asking him out for a smoothie - and he actually responded. And then, he actually turned up to go grab one with her.

"It was hot, and I didn’t think it’d be appropriate to ask to buy him a drink, so I opted for a smoothie," she told Buzzfeed. Then, she went into detail about what he was like to meet:

"He smelled like Mahogany Teakwood from Bath & Body Works but better."

You know what? I think I believe her.
