In June this year, Cardi B fans discovered that the 25-year-old rapper had married fellow hip hop artist Offset. Not only that, but it turned out the couple had been married for months without anyone knowing about it. Initially, TMZ got hold of a marriage certificate which stated that they had gotten married all the way back in September.

Now, however, it seems that they have broken up.

Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar (Cardi's real name) and Kiari Kendrell Cephus (Offset's real name) and "were united in marriage" on September 20, 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia.

This was later confirmed when Offset spoke at the BET Awards, where he said, "I thank God, I thank my wife, and you should thank yours."

Eventually, this was all 100% confirmed when Cardi took to Twitter to clear it all up and address the rumours flying around. "There are so many moments that I share with the world and then there are moments that I want to keep for myself!" she wrote. "Getting married was one of those moments!"

"One morning in September we woke up and decided to get married. We found someone to marry us, and she did, just the two of us and my cousin. I said I do, with no dress no make up and no ring!

"I appreciate and love my husband so much for still wanting for me have that special moment that every girl dreams of when he got down on his knee and put a ring on my finger and he did that for me!! Well now since you lil nosey f*cks know at least ya can stop saying I had a baby out of wedlock."

Now, over a year after Cardi B and Offset got married, they have announced that they're breaking up. Cardi posted a video to her Instagram account this morning to explain that, while they are no longer together, there aren't any hard feelings - and they're both still going to be there for their daughter Kulture, who was born in July this year.

"So, everybody been bugging me and everything," she said in the video. "And you know, I been trying to work things out with my baby father for a hot minute now."

"We're really good friends and you know we're really good business partners and you know, he's always somebody that I run to, to talk to and we got a lot of love for each other, but things just haven't been working out between us for a long time.

"And it's nobody's fault. It's just like I guess we grew out of love. But we're not together anymore. I don't know it might take time to get a divorce. And I'm going to always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter's father and yeah."

While the end of the relationship is sad, it looks as if both of them are dealing with it maturely and have taken steps to make sure they can still remain on good terms.
