Once you've made it as a rapper, or rock star, I bet there's a temptation to blow money fast. After years of struggling and squirreling away cash to pay the bills, you're suddenly awash with Scrooge McDuck money. Finally, you can splurge on designer clothes, diamond jewelry, a flying car, a pet tiger, an island - the world is yours, baby! But before you indulge in selfish hedonism, you could do something: Buy a dream house for your mom. (Let's face it, you owe her for that 'microwave a turkey' prank.)

Cardi B had a great 2018, riding the success of Bodak Yellow to the release of her number one album, Invasion of Privacy. She also had a baby girl with Migos member Offset, whom she secretly married. The baby's name is a reference to Migos, but no, it's not "Patek," "Lambo" or "SKRR! SKRR!" It's "Kulture," a stylized version of the album title that put the rap group on the map. Okay, Cardi's year wasn't all good, due to that nasty shoe-throwing beef with Nicki Minaj. But now the rapper is back in the headlines for something positive.

On Instagram, Cardi B announced that she fulfilled her 'childhood dream' of buying her mom a house. "Stay down till you come up!" she wrote in the caption. "Its always been a dream to buy my mother a house. Last year i was so thirsty to buy my mom a house but the ones i was interested for her weren’t at my price range. I worked and worked and now I’m here !! Thank you everybody who supported me to make my childhood dreams come true! Buy my momma a house !!.....don’t ask me for shit motherfuckers i got big girls bills ??!"

The I Like It rapper posted a video tour, showing off the spacious house to her followers. "Happiest day of my life," said Cardi, as she panned across the kitchen. "Last year, I was so thirsty to buy my mom a home, and I could only afford a house that cost $600,000, and you know, we live in New York." Now, after waiting to . make some more "money moves" she can afford her mother's "dream home."

After touring several empty, white-walled rooms, Cardi showed off a vibrant red room that appears to be a home movie theater. (One could say it's a 'red bottom, that's a bloody room.') "Favorite part of all, it’s this," she said. "Can’t wait until all my family comes here, Thanksgiving, everything. So happy." Cardi also admitted she was crying earlier, due to the "emotional" day. We know she's a hilarious talk show guest and an entertaining rapper - but who knew she was this wholesome?

In a perfect world, we'd all become famous rappers or rock stars and buy our mothers dream houses. And I suppose we'd buy something for our fathers too. Maybe a new tie? Socks? Deodorant? Dads are hard to shop for.
