Cardi B issues response to rumours that she is pregnant
Since she released her hit single Bodak Yellow back in 2017, Cardi B has gone from being an internet sensation to one of the biggest artists on the planet. It's been quite the transformation for the former-stripper/reality TV star, who is known for her forthright and unreserved manner, as well as her rapping ability.
However, despite her life changing massively over the past year, Cardi says that there are still things about being famous that she doesn't like. Plenty of her songs center around what she can buy now that she is making money (particularly shoes), but in an interview with CR Fashion book, the rapper claimed that she used to be happier.
"Well, one positive thing is that, my family, whatever they want, they get. Everything that I want to buy, I can get. I don’t have to worry so much about my future.
One negative thing is that, even though I'm happy, I feel like I was a little bit happier two or three years ago when I had less money. I had less people who had opinions about my life. I felt like my life was mine. Now I feel like I don’t even own my life. I feel like the world owns me.
It’s crazy because I never been the type of person to ever really care about anything. I never had to censor myself. Now I feel like everybody is so sensitive, and it’s sad.
Some people have written me off or tried to make me feel like I’m something I’m not or wanted to tell me how to manage my relationship."
The interest in Cardi's life has led to the spotlight being firmly cast on her relationship with fellow rapper Offset. Cardi and the Migos rapper are engaged, and the 25-year-old has been regularly rumoured to be pregnant.
Despite her numerous denials, the rumours continue to dog the couple and in an interview with E! News at last weekend's Grammy awards, Cardi said that she gets asked if she is pregnant every two weeks.
"So it's just like, if ya'll wanna know, ask me, I'll tell ya.
I've been trying to get away from gossip sites It's been OK.
I haven't replied back to no bad comments like in five days."
However, it appears that some people still don't believe her. After taking to Instagram to post a video of herself rapping along to her newest single, one commenter suggested that Cardi may be pulling a Kylie Jenner and hiding the fact that she is pregnant. The comment said:
"Is there maybe a Kylie Jenner secret that we need to know about lol Just asking"
However, seeing as Cardi B has no problem speaking her mind, the rapper responded to the commenter in spectacular fashion, saying:
"No b***h I'm just getting fat. Let me fat in peace, [sic]."
You can't argue with that. C'mon guys, surely the whole Kylie Jenner ordeal has put everyone off pregnancy rumours by now.
