People love Cardi B because she speaks from the heart and is unapologetically herself. Whether she's giving advice on what not to do in a strip club, breastfeeding her daughter in a racy music video or explaining why she didn't have an abortion, the rapper is immensely likable. (Oh, and she also makes catchy bops, which earned a Grammy nomination for Album Of The Year.)

This week the outspoken rapper shared some very NSFW thoughts on the partial government shutdown. President Donald Trump refuses to sign any spending bills that don't contain $5.7 billion funding for a border wall at the US-Mexico border. Democrats refuse to fund this initiative because they believe the wall is an ineffective outrageous waste of money. As a result, we are at an impasse. For 27 days, 800,000 federal workers have been forced to go on unpaid or work without pay, to be reimbursed whenever this national nightmare ends.

On Instagram, Cardi B shared a candid video rant about the predicament: "It's been a little bit over three weeks," said the I Like It rapper. "Trump is now ordering and summons-ing federal government workers to go back to work without getting paid. Now, I don't wanna hear y'all motherf***ers talkin' about, 'Oh, but Obama shut down the government for 17 days.' Yeah, bitch! For health care! So your grandma could check her blood pressure and you bitches could go check your p****y at the gynecologist with no motherf***in' problem."

"This sh*t is crazy," Cardi B continued. "Like, our country is in a hell hole right now, all for a f***in' wall. ... I feel like we need to take some action. I don't know what type of action, bitch, because this is not what I do. But, bitch, I'm scared. This is crazy, and I really feel bad for these people that gotta go to f***en work to not get motherf***en paid."

While the dirty language made some people clutch their pearls, many people noted that Cardi B wasn't wrong. The New York Times reports that support for the wall is "has consistently been unpopular, with voters opposed by around a 20-point margin over months of national surveys, which "makes it even less popular than the president himself." In other words, the majority of Americans don't want the wall. Why are 800,000 federal workers being held hostage over this thing?

But hey, there is one upside to Trump's shutdow: The Gregory Brothers - aka the folks behind Autotune The News - have remixed the Bronx rapper's rant into a catchy song. By splicing some choice soundbytes over her breakout hit, Bodak Yellow, they have created the first bop of 2019.

The remix earned praise from Twitter users, who declared that the Government Shutdown Remix "goes hard." Meanwhile, Democratic politicians on Capitol Hill are debating whether or not they should retweet Cardi B's rant, which is pretty hilarious.

So far, a few brave souls have 'put some respek on her name'. Michigan congresswoman Rashida Tlaib tweeted that Cardi has "the key to the city" of Detroit. And when asked if more people like Cardi B should speak, New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said, "Absolutely, I do. I mean, Bronx girls are going to reopen the government, OK?"
