Chrissy Teigen just made a Trump comparison you're going to relate to
Bona fide social media star Chrissy Teigen, has done it again. The 32-year-0ld American model has become known for her wry and witty commentary on everything from politics to pop culture on her Twitter and Instagram accounts, and it has naturally earned her a legion of fans. From poking fun at herself to berating the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump, it's clear that Chrissy deserves her very own show dedicated to her larger-than-life personality, adorable family (I mean, just check out her Instagram account for pictures of Luna) and endless, hilarious tirades.
Donald Trump was once again Chrissy's target on Sunday evening, when she took to Twitter to share an observation that was so uncanny that the whole of the internet was perplexed that they hadn't seen it before. She wrote, "trump became president the same year people started eating tide pods".
And in one fell tweet, Chrissy Teigen summed up 2017. It will forever be remembered as the year when former Apprentice star and billionaire property mogul, Donald Trump became President, and as the year when people seriously considered consuming those colorful laundry detergent pods. As a note, this is most definitely not something you should attempt at home.
With over 81,000 retweets and 390,000 likes, the people of Twitter had a lot to say about Chrissy's profound statement. One social media user wrote, "Do people eat tide pods because trump is president? Or is trump president because people are dumb enough to eat tide pods," while comedian Paul Scheer asserted "It would be great to get Trump to take the Tidepod challenge. Just tell him Obama did 4 in his mouth at once."
Others, however, chose to respond with gifs of Hillary Clinton - and given her relationship with President Trump, it naturally made for some hilarious Twitter threads.
This is not the first time in recent weeks that Chrissy Teigen has caused a commotion on Twitter. Just a few weeks ago, Teigen was forced to make her social media accounts private after becoming embroiled in an argument with self-proclaimed "investigative journalist" and far-right activist, Liz Crokin, who accused the Teigen-Legend family of being involved in the debunked "pizzagate" controversy.
The conspiracy theorist claimed that Chrissy's use of a pizza emoji on a picture of her daughter, Luna, was evidence of her complicity in "pizzagate" - the widely-discredited paedophile ring conspiracy. "Alright. I debated saying something about this but I’m pretty disturbed over here. The fact that there are people with these...thoughts...is really scary," Chrissy wrote.
Thankfully Chrissy Teigen quickly made her Twitter and Instagram accounts public again, after she and her husband, John Legend, got Crokin's verified Twitter badge removed. And good thing too, because we wouldn't have been privy to her spot-on analogy between Donald Trump and laundry detergent pods.
In other Teigen-Legend news, Chrissy Teigen has fired back at Seal over Oprah comments in pointed Instagram post.
