Chrissy Teigen shows off her baby bump and the internet can't get enough
It's hard to tell how these things start, but through the witty use of social media and the general tact and luck needed to tap into the zeitgeist, some celebrities become internet sensations. There are plenty who capture headlines with their tweets, Instagram posts and Snapchat stories, such as Ryan Reynolds or JK Rowling. But the queen of this particular niche is definitely Chrissy Teigen, the model and wife of John Legend.
She has made headlines for a variety of reasons, from trolling her husband to leaving a $1,000 tip for a waitress. There have also been some more serious debates she has become involved in, such as her choice to pay McKayla Maroney's fine for breaking her non-disclosure agreement about her sexual assault, or when she fought back against Seal for his critical comments about Oprah's speech about equality at the Golden Globes.
One particularly weird story involved both Teigen and her musician husband having their flight disrupted when someone boarded with the wrong ticket. Strangely enough, the staff only realised the passenger was on the wrong plane four hours into the 11-hour flight, meaning that they then had to head all the way back to LA-X.
Legend and Teigen, who already have one son together, announced that they have another on the way back in November. Teigen made the announcement on Instagram, which included their adorable daughter Luna, who is around 21 months old. "Luna, what's in here?" Teigen asks her daughter, while pointing to her own stomach. "Baby!" the little girl replies. She then added the caption "It's John's!" to the video.
She had hinted that this was in the cards in the past, however. Back in January, Teigen spoke with Entertainment Tonight about potentially expanding her family. "Oh my God, a little boy is next for sure," she said at the time, before jokingly explaining her statement on Twitter the following day.
Now Teigen has stepped up her Instagram game once again, giving her fans a glimpse of her baby bump, showing just how far along she is in the pregnancy. The photo, which she captioned with "Girls weekend", features the 32-year-old lounging on a sofa, and has already received over a million likes and 4,000 comments.
While she has said she wanted a boy in the past, some fans are taking her caption to mean that the "girls weekend" doesn't involve her female friends, but serves as a clue to the sex of her unborn child. While this isn't a 100% confirmation, it was enough to drive fans of the couple wild online.
On top of her work in the modelling industry, Teigen also features as a co-host of Lip Sync Battle and released a clothing line in collaboration with Revolve in October 2017. The previous year, she published a cookbook called Cravings, which then became a New York Times bestseller. The couple might have a lot more on their plate later this year, however, when there are two little ones to look after.
