Chrissy Teigen shuts down body shamer who tells women to 'stop f**king crying'

If you've spent any time whatsoever following Chrissy Teigen on social media, you'll know that the model and wife of the musician John Legend is a national treasure. Not only is she consistently and wildly hilarious, Teigen has incredible poise confidence, and uses that confidence to the best of her ability.

Not only does she make us laugh, but this runway model could also be considered a feminist role model, and earlier this week we got yet another example of that when she brutally destroyed a man on Twitter who had some less-than-polite words to say about some feminist body art.

At a first glance, this looks like the right buttock of a model (and you'd be right in assuming so), but the colourful patterns on this cheek are in fact the work of an artist by the name of Cinta Tort Cartró, who lives in Barcelona, Spain.

She's using her Instagram account to showcase her feminist art, and the post above is but one of many painting in women's stretch marks and period stains with rainbow colours, with the aim of celebrating and normalising menstruation and female expression.

Of course, that acceptance won't happen all at once, and one man showed his opposition in no uncertain terms.

This is Twitter user @Toastin_Dave, who's apparently suffering with a bit of acne. Of course, acne can be a stressful and embarrassing ailment, but it's not exactly on the same level as normalising menstruation and female empowerment, right? @Toastin_Dave, unfortunately, seemed to think so.

He implored women to "stop f***ing crying" over their stretch marks, and generally was not a nice guy about something a lot of women go through with their bodies. Enter Chrissy Teigen.

I'm sure she spends a lot of her time either at her job, with husband John Legend or their adorable daughter Luna, but I like to think Teigen also regularly patrols the internet looking for online injustice, before swooping in like some sort of social media Batman. She did just that with @Toastin_Dave the bodyshamer, shutting him down in trademark fashion.

Trolling at its finest. She could easily have got into a flame war with this less-than-gentle gentleman, but Chrissy Teigen instead showed @Toastin_Dave that not only was his outspoken opinion unwelcome, it wasn't even worth a response. Twitter loved it. Teigen's response got over 2,000 retweets, and plenty of support from the Twitterati.

On the internet, there are going to be people who will very outspokenly express their opinion. It's the cornerstone of free speech. As @Toastin_Dave found out, however, that doesn't quite insulate you from the consequences of your words, and if you say some not very nice things, you can expect some not very nice responses.

Of course, period art won't be for everyone, but in the immortal words of Thumper the rabbit in the Disney classic Bambi: "if you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all". In the meantime, let's all be glad we've got Chrissy Teigen to set the haters straight when we need her most.
