In Blackpool, England, a thief stole a crate of beer from a restaurant. I know, this doesn't sound like very exciting news. But here's the thing: The thief looks just like Ross from Friends! Got your attention now, right? The sitcom went off the air 14 years ago, and now it's like we're getting an extra episode: The One Where Ross Got Fired From The Museum And Rachel Asked For a Divorce And He Had To Resort To Stealing Beer To Stop The Sadness.

It all started when the Blackpool Police shared a still photo from the CCTV footage on Facebook. They wrote, "Do you recognise this man? We want to speak to him in relation to a theft at a Blackpool restaurant on the 20th September. If you know who this is, please email [email protected] quoting log LC-20180920-0670. Thank you for your help." It didn't take long for people to realize the thief shared an uncanny resemblance to Ross Geller.

The post went viral, and the comment section filled with hilarious Friends references. One person wrote, "Lay off him. He grew up with Monica. IF YOU DIDNT EAT FAST YOU DIDNT EAT." Another wrote, "I bet he shouted ‘PIVOT’ as he lifted the beers." A third wrote, "Could he BE any more like Ross?" A fourth wrote, "Clearly stole the cans when the security guard was ON A BREAK!!" A fifth wrote, "Come on guys its a serious robbery, It's not that common, it doesn't happen to every guy and it is a big deal." A sixth wrote, "Please approach with caution. He is known to have studied Karate and we believe he has mastered the art of Unagi, the state of total awareness." And so on!

Even the Blackpool Police got in on the joke. They commented, "Thank you to everyone for your speedy responses. We have investigated this matter thoroughly and have confirmed that David Schwimmer was in America on this date. We're so sorry it has to be this way." To which one Facebook user replied, "I don't think it's been this guy's day, his week, his month or even his year." (Nice!)

After the post went viral in the UK, the story spread to America, and reached David Schwimmer himself. On Twitter, the actor posted a hilarious video of him pretending to steal beer from a grocery store. In the caption, he wrote, "Officers, I swear it wasn't me. As you can see, I was in New York. To the hardworking Blackpool Police, good luck with the investigation. #itwasntme."

Well, the Friends reunion isn't happening yet, so this news about Ross Geller's doppleganger will have to hold fans over. It is not known why the thief was stealing the beer, but it's possible he was upset because someone at work stole his sandwich. That was the only good thing going on his life. Someone ate the ONLY GOOD THING GOING ON IN HIS LIFE!
