Eminem has a brother who no-one has ever seen before and he's starring in a new movie

Despite his astronomical levels of fame and the fact that he is arguably one of the greatest rappers of all time, Eminem has managed to keep his private/family life relatively secret. The tribulations of his often turbulent relationship with his ex-wife Kim have been well documented, but on the whole, not much is known about the rest of Em's family.

I, for one, had no idea that Eminem had a brother. While he often describes his relationship with his mother in his music, never in my life have I heard that Eminem mention the fact that he has a sibling. However, Nathan Mathers does exist and he is now embarking on a career as a film star. Of course, acting is something Eminem has also dabbled in before, with him playing himself in the smash hit biopic, 8 Mile.

Nathan is obviously nowhere near as well-known as his older brother is, but we do know that he once attempted to follow his older siblings footsteps by attempting to launch a rap career. Nathan performed under the moniker of Nate Kane and released an aptly-titled song called "Shadow of a Celebrity" a few years back. However, seeing as literally nobody has heard of it, it didn't do too well commercially.

Little else is known about the younger Mathers, other than that he got arrested for DUI back in 2009 when his the alcohol level in his blood was recorded at 0.16 percent, twice the 0.08 percent legal limit.

While Nathan might not be well known among the masses, keen fans of Eminem have noted that Slim Shady refers to him once in the song "My Mom", rapping: "But I don't need it 'Well fuck it then, break it up / Take a little piece and beat it before you wake Nathan up."

Nathan is set to star in his first film role in the art house crime movie Devil's Night: Dawn of the Nain Rouge. Written and directed by Emmy-nominated producer Sam Logan Khaleghi, the film is based on the legend of the "Nain Rogue" (the Red Dwarf) a creature that is said to haunt Detroit and the surrounding areas.

Shot in both Detroit and Chennai in India, the film will feature Jesi Jensen from Fox's Legends & Lies. Jensen plays a military veteran who returns to Detroit in order to work as a police officer. Upon their arrival home, the officer is assigned to a supernatural case that is surrounded by urban legend.

Other members of the cast include D12's Swifty McVay and Bolly Wood's Napoleon Duraisamy, who has starred in over 150 films, including major titles in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

I'm sure Nathan has done alright in life, after all, he is Eminem's brother. But still, it's good to see him pursuing his creative passions and hopefully, he can have even a fraction of the success his brother has had. Devil's Night: Dawn of the Nain Rouge, is set to be released in 2019, so keep your eyes peeled.
