Gwen Stefani faces cruel backlash over her appearance at awards ceremony
Gwen Stefani has been subjected to some cruel comments over the way she looked when she appeared at the Academy of Country Music Awards last Sunday.
The No Doubt singer, 49, posted to Instagram shortly after her appearance at the Awards Show, where she was supporting her boyfriend, country singer Blake Shelton. He didn't have a great night either, after his ex Miranda Lambert seemed to shade him during her performance.
Here's the afore-mentioned shade from Miranda Lambert:
On the social media site, Gwen Stefani thanked her stylist for her look at the ACMAs. "@officialdanilohair thanku for giving me Barbie hair for date night," Stefani posted, tagging stylist Danilo, but some fans chose to post negative comments about Stefani.
On that very same Instagram post, plenty of comments were saying the same thing: that Stefani didn't quite look herself. "New lips who dis?" said @dftpnk14, while @kttyifoo said: "What happened to Gwen the Rocker😳you look like your [sic] trying too hard to be a Country Diva... almost drag queen like just be yourself!!!"
@luluq01 commented on the picture: "Gwen you are so awesome the way you are. We all notice the lip injections have gone a little too far. Of course you can do what you wish, but those that wish you well, think there is loveliness in a more natural look."
"Sorry Gwen i am not really fan of this look for once.. too much too fake it doesnt [sic] fit you i think.. by the way i love you so much please don't be mad at me," said @sarahwilliams246, as the comments continued, but there were some people who came out in support of the singer.
"You look amazing!!! And if you did your makeup yourself...cuz I know you can....it is amazing too!!!!" gushed @kandeejohnson, before @ltv5400 went even further.
"Gwen you are the envy many women age doesnt [sic] appear to have touched you. From us on the outside looking in. Your personality that shows thru [sic] on Instagram is fantastic. Thanks for letting us share a glimpse of your personal life in this crazy negative world."
Gwen Stefani is yet to address the Instagram comments, nor should she feel any need to. We're surely now at the stage in our society when we can look however we choose without the need for judgement from others.
