It's fair to say that there has never been a better time to be a man with facial hair. Honestly, everywhere you look these days you're probably more likely to see a bearded bloke than you are a clean-shaven one. This is even the case in movies: just take a look at the lineup of the Avengers if you want an example: seems like the vast majority of those costumed superheroes are bearded. Maybe they all go to the same barber? Who knows.
But one thing that still hasn't had a comeback is the humble moustache. Yes, when you think of a tache, most people will envisage Freddy Mercury or one of the Mario bros. However, it seems as though a few of the biggest stars in the MCU have championed moustaches before, which has led to a hilarious rivalry on social media between two A-listers. Is this Civil War: Facial Hair Edition? You decide.
The trouble began earlier this week, after Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr took to Twitter, and posted a throwback image of himself, Captain America star Chris Evans, and the Incredible Hulk himself Mark Ruffalo, all sporting trendy-looking moustaches. Downey Jr captioned the snap: "Ok this time it's real—Who wore it best, @ChrisEvans @MarkRuffalo?" As a result, the post spurred a major chain of reactions from fans and other MCU actors.
