Ever the contentious individual, Taylor Swift certainly doesn't do things by halves. I mean, she doesn't just have a group of friends, she has a "squad"; and instead of making covert digs at her ex-boyfriends, she dedicates entire tracks to them (just ask Harry Styles, Calvin Harris or John Mayer). Oh, and not to mention the fact that she regularly tops the list of Forbes' highest paid female musician.

But although the old Taylor is dead, it seems as if the songstress still incites the same old vitriol. In fact, her fans were up in arms last week when a radio presenter told her that she "needed a shower" after a festival performance.

Taylor Swift's gaggle of "Swifties" weren't amused by some dry British humour on a muggy day in Swansea, Wales, where Swift had been performing at the Biggest Weekend festival this past Sunday.

BBC Radio 1's Greg James lightheartedly told the pop-star "I think you need to have a shower now" after she issued an energetic six-song set in the British humidity. Swift took the comment in her stride, replying "I agree. And I’m not offended that you said that. There’s a lot going on and none of it’s good here."

Her fans, however, weren't quite able to shake off the comment like Swift. "#TaylorSwift has her first recorded interview after years of not doing them and she's told that she needs a shower..." one Twitter user wrote, while another added "Taylor should take a shower? A normal human being obviously sweats! Though this was a joke, many people find it offensive including me! The first interview after like 2 years with @taylorswift13 and look at his guts."

A third corroborated "Really @GragJames telling Taylor Swift she needs to take a shower? However British you are, remember that you're being watched globally. Where are your manners?"

This prompted the interviewer to take to Twitter to defend himself and say that the Reputation singer had a good sense of humour about the comment - which was not meant to be a dig in any way. "She really is right," he wrote. "TS has a great sense of humour and we have known each other for ages and had a good catch up after the interview. It’s all cool. It was hot up there. I almost said we should both go for a shower but after this reaction I’m glad I didn’t!"

Swift had a packed weekend but still managed to make time to meet with fans before and after the concert. One of the individuals she met was a young girl called Alexis, who experienced a seizure during the show, and was later gifted with the singer's personal sweatshirt.

"Taylor’s mom came straight to us when she saw my little girl was being carried limp and still in the postialic fog to the gurney and wanted to make sure she was taken care of and she definitely was," the girl's mum, Karen Wagner, later shared on Facebook. "Thank you thank you to Taylor Swift, Andrea Swift, and crew for making a very scary night into a happy ending."

Well, what a nice gesture, but we sure hope Taylor washed the sweatshirt first, though!
