Jamie Foxx storms out of an ESPN interview after being asked about Katie Holmes
If there's an actor out there known for being über-cool, it's Jamie Foxx. The Django Unchained star is one of the most talented and influential actors working in show business today, and is also an accomplished singer, songwriter, and stand-up comedian. As an actor, his work in the 2004 Ray Charles Biopic Ray earned him and Academy Award and a BAFTA for Best Actor, and he's also a Grammy Award-winning musician; having produced three albums highly-rated on the Billboard 200: namely Unpredictable, Intuition and Best Night of My Life.
However, aside from being such an impressive renaissance man, Foxx is also known for being intensely private, and doesn't appreciate being papped, or having journalists pry into his personal life. I can't say I blame his aversion to the intrusion of the paparazzi, but it's a fact that sometimes he can get a little bit... testy about it, especially when it comes to the subject of Batman Begins actress Katie Holmes. As this next clip shows, it's seriously not a good idea to bring it up in front of him.
Speculation about the nature of Foxx and Holmes' relationship, (namely the question of whether it was romantic or platonic) was first ignited when photographers spotted them getting very cosy with each other at Clive Davis' annual Pre-Gal in January. Their intimacy seemed to be nothing less than an unofficial confirmation that the actors were dating, albeit in a clandestine fashion.
The awkwardness ensued yesterday, when Jamie Foxx was on a live interview on ESPN with SportsCenter‘s Michael Smith as he was preparing to participate in the
Foxx, who looked pretty p*ssed off at the impetuousness of the question, immediately took off his microphone, and strode off, with his hoodie thrown over his head, leaving a sheepish-looking Smith to ask: "Uh oh, did we lose him? Oh, he ready to go, he ready to hoop."
However, Foxx looked like he was enjoying the rest of the game as time went on, and even called out: "I’m ready-made, all you gotta do is add water. They’re ready to pour some water on me and I’m ready to rock!" once he was on the court. No hard feelings I guess?
Foxx and Holmes first confirmed that they were dating back in September of 2017, and revealed that a clause in Katie's divorce proceedings had prohibited from the couple from revealing their relationship to the public. However, the injunction has not been lifted, which means that they're free to do as they please. Still, the above footage shows that it's not a good idea to ask Jamie about his private affairs.
