Jennifer Aniston's California dream house proves she's the Fresh Princess of Bel-Air
As you can imagine, being one of the most successful actresses of all time comes with its perks. Whether it's free clothing, the highest quality food or owning an absolutely gorgeous home in Bel-Air; being famous certainly has its upsides. Jennifer Aniston is one woman who knows all about the advantages that being a celebrity can bring and, if her house is anything to go by, she is quite possibly the Fresh Princess of Bel-Air (I'm so sorry for that utterly awful joke).
When she's not busy on set or talking about a possible Friends reunion, Jennifer Aniston can be found chilling out in the grounds of her new multi-million dollar mansion that she spent a lot of time transforming into her dream home.
In this month's edition of Architectural Digest, Aniston invites readers inside her luxurious Bel Air pad, where she resides with her husband Justin Theroux and their three dogs. As is to be expected, the home is glamorous, stylish and sleek - just like Jen.
Aniston acquired the property in 2011 after selling her beloved home in LA's Trousdale Estates enclave and attempting to relocate to New York. The move didn't work out, with Aniston struggling to deal with the constant pack of paparazzi that camped outside of her home at all times. However, despite the move being forced upon her, the former-Friends actress says that she has enjoyed the restoration process.
“If I wasn’t an actress, I’d want to be a designer. I love the process,” the serial home renovator says. “There’s something about picking out fabrics and finishes that feeds my soul.”
Describing her thought process behind the house, Aniston says that "sexy is important, but comfort is essential" and this theme can be seen throughout the house like her cozy-but-classy living room, complete with its own bar.
Or her zen-like garden, which features a swimming pool and stunning views over the city.
However, one of the most impressive features of the house has to be the terrace. Aniston says that she likes to put out "a mean taco bar" in the summer, or a chilli "in the colder months".
Aniston describes the house as "Old World meets New World" and says that the learning process that accompanied the project was eye-opening. Speaking about the difficulties that her and Justin Theroux dealt with when renovating the house, Jen said: "Justin definitely wanted to be involved, so there was a bit of a learning curve for me on how to include another voice in the design process. For instance, I figured out that immediately saying ‘No!’ to any suggestion is not the most collaborative move."
Sound advice from Anniston who looks like she owns a house that we can only dream of; hardly surprising when you consider that she has a net worth of $150 million.
