It doesn't seem like so long ago, does it, that we were all talking about Jennifer Lawrence getting together with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin?
Well, I'm sorry to be the one to have to break it to you, but JLaw and Chris Martin were reportedly dating way back in 2015 and have long since parted ways, which is ocular proof to me that one's conception of time really does speed up as one gets older.
Jennifer Lawrence is, it hardly needs mentioning, one of the most instantly recognisable names and faces on the planet, her movie career is wildly successful; she won an Oscar for her role in Silver Linings Playbook at a remarkably young age and basically hasn't looked back since, making blockbuster after blockbuster.
She recently starred in auteur Darren Aronofsky's Mother! - a departure from more middle-of-the-road Hollywood ventures, and thereafter became romantically linked to Aronofsky, but the pair reportedly split after a year of dating.
Since then, it's all been relatively quiet on the dating gossip front as far as Jennifer Lawrence is concerned, but now, seemingly out of nowhere, it's being reported that the 28-year-old star has gotten engaged to her new boyfriend.
Cooke Maroney, 34, had sparked speculation last week when he was spotted out on a date with the Passengers actress, who had a "massive ring" on her finger. A source told page six;
"It was a giant rock. They seemed like they were celebrating and people were talking about it. The ring was very noticeable. They were sitting back in a corner. She was wearing a cute black dress with white polka dots."
Thus far, there's been no public announcement from either JLaw or Maroney, though a rep for Lawrence confirmed the engagement to E! News and Fox News. No further details were made clear at the time.
In January Us Weekly reported the couple to be "very serious" and "definitely appear to be in it for the long haul.”
Page Six reports that Cooke Maroney works as director at the prestigious Gladstone Gallery in New York, which boasts several high profile clients.
The couple is said to have met through JLaw's best friend Laura Simpson. While a rep for Jennifer Lawrence has confirmed the news, fans might be waiting a while for any official word from the happy couple; the pair are known to be private and reportedly haven't addressed their relationship since they started dating last summer.
