Every relationship requires commitment, and John Krasinski is setting the bar high. The actor, best known as Jim from The Office, is married to Emily Blunt and together they have two daughters - 4-year-old Hazel and 2-year-old Violet. On John's critically acclaimed horror film A Quiet Place, the couple got to work together, but that's usually not the case. Both stars have busy schedules, filming movies and TV shows on opposite sides of the world,  which means putting family first can be difficult.

But just because something is difficult doesn't mean it's impossible. Recently John filmed the Amazon series Jack Ryan in Montreal, while Emily filmed the movie Mary Poppins Returns in London. But the couple didn't let these less than ideal circumstances keep them apart. Every weekend, John flew more than 6,000 miles, criss-crossing the ocean from Canada to England, to see his wife and kids.

"Family for me, it's a non-negotiable thing," John told People. "So if I'm honest, I was shooting 6,000 miles away from them, and I flew back every single weekend. ... So [the kids] were with [Emily], and we always set up a base, and I always want the base to be with their mom, and I’ll do the flight time."

John admitted the commute was "brutal," but doesn't see any reason to complain. "We are all so lucky to be doing what we're doing [in show business]," he explained. "If there's one thing that's a bummer, it's that you spend time away from your kids. But guess what, a lot of people spend time away from their kids. So for me, I think we're all living in a fantasy camp. So I'm not going to be the first one to complain."

Viewers of TV shows and movies might not realize how much work goes into production. The hours for actors are often long, especially if they are the leads, carrying the show. In August, John's Jack Ryan co-star, Dina Shihabi, described his grueling schedule to People: "He would wrap [shooting] at like 5 a.m. on a Saturday morning, get on the next flight to London, and then come back Sunday night."

Well, I guess John got a taste of this lifestyle during season nine of The Office. His character, Jim Halpert, started splitting his time between the Dunder Mifflin paper company in Scranton, and his sports marketing company in Philadelphia. So, every week he'd drive about 250 miles, around-trip, to see his wife and kids. It was good practice!

It probably also helps that John and Emily are sooo in love. Last March, he told Playboy, "I think my wife gets me. Not just to sound adorable, but the truth is she gets me more than anyone else has ever gotten me." And last month, he shared her perfect career advice, plus how he 'propositions' her. You know what? I think these two are going to make it.
