We've seen celebrities mercilessly troll each other on social media before - looking at you, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman - but never to the extent of John Stamos and Nick Jonas.

You wouldn't expect these two stars to be friends, since they come from different generations. Stamos, 55, is best known for playing Uncle Jesse in the cheesy sitcom Full House, plus the cheesy revival, Fuller House, where Aunt Becky will probably mysteriously disappear soon.

Meanwhile, Nick Jonas, 26, is one third of the pop-rock band The Jonas Brothers, who reunited after six years with the release of the song Sucker on March 1. (This might explain those high-pitched shrieks you heard from your daughters' room that just about gave you a heart attack.)

But despite the age difference, John Stamos and Nick Jonas stan each other. Last week the celebrities engaged in an Inception-style prank war that hilariously escalated. It's the bromance you never knew you wanted, and, well, let's just get into it.

It all started when John Stamos was spotted wearing a Jonas Brothers T-shirt.

Afterward, Nick Jonas was spotted wearing a sweatshirt with an image of John Stamos wearing a Jonas Brothers T-shirt

Then John Stamos was spotted sleeping on a pillow with an image of Nick Jonas wearing a sweatshirt with an image of John Stamos wearing a Jonas Brothers T-shirt (See what I mean by 'Inception-style'?)

Not to be outdone, Nick Jonas posted a photo sleeping under a duet cover with an image of John Stamos sleeping on a pillow with an image of Nick Jonas wearing a sweatshirt with an image of John Stamos wearing a Jonas Brothers T-shirt

If you thought the prank was over, think again! Over the weekend, John Stamos took things to a new level by posing for a picture with a tattoo artist who is about to ink Nick Jonas' face on his forearm. Check, and mate!

I know what you're thinking - is Aunt Becky going to go to jail for spending $500,000 to bribe USC to accept her daughters as star rowing recruits despite they fact they were not part of a rowing team? And also, did John Stamos really get that Nick Jonas tattoo?

As of this writing, we are unable to verify if the Full House star really went through with the inking. In the Instagram comments, some fans were skeptical, but everyone appreciated the commitment to the joke. Stamos captioned the image "#jobrosforlife," and Nick Jonas commented, "Okay, okay…," which appears to concede defeat. You win, Uncle Jesse!

In the past, Stamos has joked about being "the fourth Jonas brother" - I think now they need to make that official. Or at the very least, the Jonas Brothers should let Jesse And The Rippers open for them on tour. That cover of the Beach Boys' Forever was a bop.
