Justin Bieber is not exactly known for good ideas. He was charged with vandalism after egging his neighbour's home and got a DUI while drag racing. But his most recent spark of inspiration has left his fans wanting more.

On June 9th, Bieber challenged Tom Cruise to a fight on Twitter, tagging the president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship:

Conor McGregor, who has won two UFC division championships, supported Bieber as he stirred the pot:

While Bieber was supposedly joking about the fight, as he has never met Tom Cruise and appreciates his work, that doesn't mean the two couldn't tussle for fun.

The fight may be in the works after a series of private phone calls. Ari Emanuel, the co-CEO of William Morris Endeavor (the media agency that owns UFC), supposedly called Bieber's manager last week. Through the call, Emanuel put Bieber's manager in contact with Dana White, UFC President. All three are on board for the stars to throw hands.

Bieber's manager says the pop star would fight if Cruise also wanted to. During the call, Emanuel said he believed Cruise would be down, despite the fact that he's a 56-year-old fighting a 25-year-old. White agreed that the match was an easy yes, as he'd have no trouble promoting it.

In an interview with Guerrilla Cross Radio, White said:

"I'll tell you this, if Justin Bieber wants to fight Tom Cruise, and Tom Cruise wants to fight Justin Bieber, we can definitely talk."

This isn't the first time Bieber has had a taste for combat. In 2014, he and Orlando Bloom discussed fighting and even received attention from trainers who offered to help prepare them.

While Cruise hasn't responded to all the talk about him and Bieber taking it to the octagon, that doesn't mean it will never happen. Think of all the celebrity match-ups to come if Bieber pulls this off. Let's fight!
