Justin Timberlake reveals the secret to his happy marriage of five years
In general, I would say that if you asked people what the meaning of life is, they would say that they just want to be happy. That's what we're all here for at the end of the day, right? We all just want to be happy. Happiness comes in a variety of different forms - for some people it might be a big family with a loving partner, others may prefer to be alone. Whatever your preference is for happiness, life is too short to be sad 24/7 - so go out there and enjoy yourselves.
One person who seems to be continuously happy is Justin Timberlake. Obviously, JT has plenty of reasons to be delighted with the way his life has panned out: he has a lot of cash, does what he loves for his career and seems to have married the love of his life in the form of Jessica Biel.
But while celebrity couples are twice as likely to divorce compared to their non-famous counterparts, Timberlake and Biel are celebrating five beautiful years of marriage this year and the couple don't appear to be showing any signs of slowing down.
Speaking to The Project about their seemingly perfect relationship, the singer says that the key to their happiness is that they always make time for themselves:
"That's always my rule, even when you get married you have to keep dating.
It's just the difference comes when you have kids you have to actually schedule the date.
So when you say you're going out at 6.30pm, you need to go out at 6.30pm."
It's not Justin who has been spilling the beans on their relationship. Earlier this year, Biel told Marie Claire why she believes that they work as a couple.
"We have similar values; we believe in loyalty, honesty.
We like to have fun."
"We like a lot of the same things.
Also, in the business, we're all very career-oriented, and you have to be a little selfish.
I understand that about my peers — about being focused and driven — and if you can find that and someone who shares the same values as you, it's like: Score!"
To mark their anniversary this year, Timberlake took to Instagram to share an intimate video of him in the studio with Biel, where he serenaded her with the song that the couple had shared their first dance to. In an emotional post, Timberlake said:
"Five years ago, on this day, I became the luckiest man in the world when I exchanged vows with my best friend. This song was our first dance. To my beautiful @jessicabiel: You have taught me so much about what a true love means. I can't put into words what these last five years have meant to me, so... "Listen to the melody ‘cause my love is in there hiding...”
Looks like there are "some" benefits to your husband being an award-winning singer, who would have known?
