Katy Perry isn't exactly known for going the conventional route with her performances. It's pretty hard to forget how all-out she went on the Super Bowl performance back in 2015. It had all kinds of spectacle, but at the end of the day it was the shark dancers that really stuck in people's brains. If that isn't ringing a bell for you, remind yourself of the bizarre image:

This has lead to a number of malfunctions too, given how ambitious her stage productions tend to be. In 2017, we saw one of her back-up dancers (dressed as a house, obviously) fall off the stage during a performance of Chained To The Rhythm at the BRIT Awards. Then there was the time where she got stuck mid-air during a Nashville concert.

As she sat atop a hanging replica of Saturn, something went wrong and she had to sit around above the crowd, before eventually jumping from the platform onto the people below. She did make a good laugh out of it for the crowd, telling them that "this is the first time I've been stuck in space" and asking, "should I tell some jokes, should I tell some stories, should I just sing another song?"

She made up for it all by inviting the 'Left Shark' that became such a popular meme back onto the stage at this particular show, to her fans' delight.

Back in August last year, it was revealed that Perry had her sights on some aspects of show business that didn't involve her taking center stage. The pop star was signed for a $25 million salary to serve as a judge on the ABC revival of American Idol, and as of this month, the show has officially launched.

While Ryan Seacrest is continuing his role as the show's host, Perry is joined by two other judges: Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. We all expected Perry to do something out of the ordinary on the show at some point, but this time it wasn't something strange she said or an odd performance of her own music.

It all started when one particular contestant mentioned that his hidden talent was the ability to quote Mean Girls from start to finish. I know we all say we can do this, but I wonder if he could actually pull it off? Before that question got any concrete answers, Perry revealed that her talent was... looking like a frog.

Everyone in the room was as confused as you probably are reading that, but she eventually cleared things up. As it turns out, she was right... she can look like a frog. You can see her pull off the weird talent in the video below:

We even get multiple angles on this bizarre thing. Honestly, I don't know whether to be impressed or horrified. It's kind of amazing that it has taken to this point in her career for this ridiculous skill to come to the surface.
