Mum-shaming has always been around, but it's something that's really blown up in the internet age, and no carer of offspring, no matter how famous, is safe from its wrath.

Just ask Khloé Kardashian. She's been a mum for nearly a year now, since giving birth to baby True back in April, and although no parent gets everything right, you'd think that Instagram pics of True being happy and healthy would be enough for haters to give Khloé the benefit of the doubt.

You thought wrong. Khloé Kardashian is getting a lot of flak after posting a picture of her nails to Instagram. So heavy has the criticism been that Khloé has been forced to hit back. But what could be so offensive about a new set of nails

This is the new nail job in question. Seems fairly innocuous, no? But all the same, her Instagram followers have an axe to grind over the length of said nails, arguing that no mother will be able to carry out her mum duties without apparently also covering baby True in scratches.

"I guess she’s not the one changing diapers, not with those nails," commented one in the vein of several others, while another took another potshot by commenting: "the nails of a woman who pays other people to do everything for her." Another commenter really laid into Khloé K, not holding back one bit.

"It’s hard to believe to do cooking, cleaning bathroom, washing dishes, taking care of the baby with that nail length. Not hating, looks beautiful and cute... but I absolutely do not believe you do house work with those nails 24/7. I’m talking about from morning till night time u do everything for kid and house."

Fair to say, some people aren't a fan of Khloé Kardashian's new nails. But being a celebrity in the internet age, Khloé Kardashian is pretty used to having to issue clapbacks (or should that be Klapbacks?), and took to Twitter to respond to the harsh criticism on social media.

"It’s annoying when people talk about my nails. Trust me, I manage just fine," tweeted Khloé, and you can pretty much hear her sigh behind the computer or phone she used to send this post out. All in a day's work for Khloé Kardashian - she's had to deal with much worse online.

One time, someone tweeted at her just to tell her that her baby was ugly.
