Kim Kardashian is no stranger to controversy, something that follows her not just due to comments she makes, but the products she promotes, too. This week, she's faced a lot of criticism for her new beauty product, which is effectively foundation for your body.

Her latest KKW Beauty product launched recently - and has already sold out. The Skin Perfecting Body Foundation is meant to cover up any 'imperfections' on the body, whether it's veins, bruises, or skin conditions - including Kim K's own psoriasis condition.

"I use this when I want to enhance my skin tone or cover my psoriasis," she said on Instagram, during promotion of the foundation. "I bruise easily and have veins and this has been my secret for over a decade. I’ve learned to live with and not be insecure of my psoriasis, but for days when I want to just cover it up I use this Body Makeup."

Since its release, a lot have people have come forward to reject the idea of the body foundation and the message behind it. Her critics have suggested that the message she's sending with the product is that natural skin isn't good enough, enforcing the idea that women are required to cover up things such as veins and scars.

"This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen," actress Linsey Godfrey wrote on Twitter. " I occasionally have to wear body makeup for work & I hate it. But for me this is just another example of the Kardashian family telling women they aren’t good enough & need to hide & cover their bodies rather than celebrate them."

And she wasn't the only one with that opinion, as you can see from these reactions:

However, there are some who think that there isn't anything inherently wrong with the product, emphasising the fact it's a choice whether to use it or not.

Regardless of people's own feelings about using the product, it remains up for debate whether Kim is putting out unrealistic expectations for her fans to follow or not.

And we can be sure this won't be the last time she'll get in hot water for something like this, either.
