If someone asked you - in one word - to describe Kim Kardashian, what would you say? 'Brash', 'annoying' and 'rich' would all be fair shouts. However, for some people, they would have some, shall we say, 'harsher' words to say.
While most people would say that Kim Kardashian has a pretty inflated ego and seems like a hugely confident woman, she appears to have a pretty different opinion of herself. More than once, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has opened up about her struggles with body image.
Despite being known for her revealing, scantily-clad selfies, Kim has previously said that she does have issues with her body. In an interview with Shape, she opened up about her battles with cellulite.
"I have cellulite, just like almost every other woman on the planet. And just because I feel secure with my body doesn't mean I think cellulite is cute! It will always be an issue for me."
Kim claims that she was an early developer and admits that she initially struggled to accept her breast and her curves.
"I was only 10 when I started developing breasts," she recalls. "I remember crying in the bathtub. I took a washcloth, made it really hot, put it over my chest, and prayed, ‘Please don't let them grow any bigger! They're embarrassing me!'"
"It’s taken me a long time to be happy with my body and for my confidence to grow to what it is today," she admits. "I grew up when the body to have was the tall, slim, supermodel one, like Cindy Crawford’s. No one looked like me. It’s good to break the mould and recreate one.
"I’m an Armenian girl, I have shape, and it turned out people liked that. That makes me feel good about myself and about other women for being so supportive. I am a confident woman, but I didn’t just arrive confident – it has built over the years and that is a big part of who I am now."
It certainly appears that Kim has learnt to embrace her curves and her body. She's released a book of selfies, has a perfume bottle that is the shape of her naked body and has appeared on magazine cover shoots completely naked. But, for all the apparent confidence, for all the attitude and "belfies," Kim claims that she is, in fact... shy.
Yes, you heard me right: Kim Kardashian has called herself shy. Taking to her Instagram to upload one of many bikini photos, Kim captioned the photo: "I’m really shy..."
While the comment may have been made in jest, it appears to have rattled a few feathers on social media. Commenters on the picture were left divided, with some users mocking Kim for the comment. Others, however, were quick to remind Kim that she had nothing to be shy about due to the fact that she has a body that some people could only dream of.
