While I'm sure both Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson were hoping for the public perception of them in 2018 have more to do with their newborn baby than Tristan's alleged (well, it's on camera) infidelity, it hasn't really played out that way.
After photos circulated of Tristan with multiple other women, many fans stepped in to tell the reality star exactly what she should do with her man. She wasn't interested in what strangers had to say, but she likely paid more attention to the critical words of her extended family.
Khloé hasn't directly commented on the allegations, but one of her sisters has. Not long after the news first broke, Kim K went onto The Ellen Show, where the host asked for her opinion on the situation. At the time, Kim was pretty vocal - so vocal, in fact, that Tristan unfollowed and blocked her across social media.
"Poor Khloé," she said at the time. "Like, I don't even know how to describe it besides it's just so f**ked up. We really were rooting for Khloé."
In the subsequent months, it became increasingly clear that Khloé and Tristan are still a couple, and are even apparently going through couples' therapy - to mixed results. "He’s no longer going with Khloé for [therapy] sessions," one source told US Weekly. "He just didn’t feel it was helping to discuss s**t that happened months ago."
It seems that things have mostly resolved for the family, as Kim even documented Tristan unblocking her on Instagram during Khloé's birthday party in June. Now, ahead of the new season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim opened up about the difficulties the family went through after the news of Tristan's cheating hit the internet.
Speaking on On Air With Ryan Seacrest, Kim said:
"We definitely all had that conversation. Sometimes we were filming and sometimes we weren't, and there were times when Khloé wanted her privacy and no cameras when she was in Cleveland going through that. But the sisters were still all filming and talking about how to approach it and what to do.
"It was definitely new territory for us and when you have a new baby coming into the world. I think ultimately we always want her to be happy, but it gets all clouded when there's a baby.
"Her motherly instincts kicked in and she has to do what makes her happy. So we'll support that."
"I don't want to give anything away because we genuinely had these conversations," Kim concluded, before ending with a tease for the upcoming season of their reality show. "You'll see it all [on the new season]," she added.
Regardless of what exactly is going on behind the scenes, and how the individual family members feel about it, Kim has definitely got a knack for turning whatever scandal they go through into marketing gold for their upcoming projects.
