Earlier this week, former New York Yankees player (and partner of Jennifer Lopez) Alex Rodriguez opened up about what exactly went on behind the scenes at the Met Gala.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated, A-Rod dropped a bunch of big celeb names when he got to talking about who he had at his "great table" that night.

"We had a great table," he told Sports Illustrated.

"The black guy from The Wire - Idris Elba, yeah, and his new wife. Some famous singer next to me, I don’t know what her name is. Versace - Donatella. We had Kylie and Kendall. And we had an Asian gentleman from Rich Asians, the lead. Kylie was talking about Instagram and her lipstick, and how rich she is."

It was that last comment that send the internet into a bit of a tailspin, given that he poked fun at Kylie for her profitable business ventures. It wasn't that long ago that Forbes named Kylie the world's youngest self-made billionaire - a label many weren't happy with.

Either way, she's rich as hell - and apparently was happy to talk it up in front of her fellow celebs. That was A-Rod's take on the conversation, anyway. Kylie had something different to say.

According to her, they were actually just chatting about Game of Thrones like a bunch of regular joes.

Her fans were more than ready to jump to her defence, because that's what people do... apparently.

Soon enough, A-Rod pulled a complete U-turn and backtracked on what he'd said, siding with Jenner's version of their Met Gala conversation. "It was me talking about you and your makeup line and how much my girls love you," he wrote.

Or was this a super sarcastic comment? It's a little hard to tell to be honest. He might just be this enthusiastic about not getting dunked on Twitter...
