The MTV VMAs happened a couple of night ago and after all the chat about the red carpet looks and awards died down, people started turning to the juicier bits of the evening to use as their gossip material. Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj were caught on camera whispering energetically to one another, and Tiffany Haddish threw shade at Camila Cabello's former girl group, Fifth Harmony, on stage.

Another thing that sparked a flurry of judgemental remarks was the way Kylie Jenner reacted to her boyfriend's performance onstage. Travis Scott, rapper and baby daddy to little Stormi, was one of the acts asked to entertain guests during the awards night. He did a pretty crazy rendition of Sicko, which involved hoisting a giant model of Travis' head covered in trippy projections and flashing neon lights across the stage.

His hoard of backup dancers helped pump up the crowd, though when the camera cut away to his girlfriend... she looked really, really awkward. Despite the intense energy that was shooting through the room during his performance, Kylie stood relatively still, swaying from side-to-side ever so slightly with an odd closed-mouth smile on her face.

Of course, people had a lot to say about it.

But while she didn't exactly seem that... enthusiastic... it could just be that that's how she rolls as a spectator of live music. Footage emerged of her and Travis back in their seats with the rest of the A-list crowd watching as J-Lo took the stage. People remarked on how they seemed less than impressed, and didn't stand up like most of the other audience members.

Here's Cardi B, for example:

And here are Kylie and Travis during the performance:

However, a video of J-Lo's performance from the VMAs does show the two of them standing up at the end, where you can observe Kylie's weird head-bopping moves once more. I guess that's just her style.

Alternatively, it could stem from the fact that the new parents had their minds elsewhere – i.e. dodging Nicki Minaj who threw shade at them for supposedly ruining her album's chances of claiming the top spot on the charts.

Right before the event, she tweeted about the fact that Travis' new album AstroWorld knocked her recently released album, Queen, from the number one spot thanks to Kylie's social media influence. Nicki tried to jokingly point out how Travis made "Kylie Jenner post a tour pass telling ppl to come see her & Stormi", though she was clearly bitter about it.

It was then revealed that the initial seating plan at the VMAs had Kylie and Travis seated behind Nicki Minaj, and that they  reportedly asked to be moved.

Of course, all manner of hilarious internet reactions ensued, following the beef between Nicki and the 6-month-old baby.

Give it a rest, will you Nicki?

While it doesn't look like Kylie had the most fun out of everyone at the event, that's fine too. Everyone has their good days and their bad days, right?
