Christmas truly is a magical time of the year, not just because of the presents, Christmas tunes and food and drink, but also because it's the time of year where everyone gets to have a proper holiday. Even celebrities, who live the majority of their lives right in the middle of the spotlight, need a little bit of downtime. More importantly, Christmas is the season where the rich and the famous get the chance to have the one thing that they can't often afford: privacy.
This will come as some relief to Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus - a celebrity couple who don't get too much time to spend with each other without being hounded by the paparazzi. The pair has been dating on/off for a number of years, and people have been feverishly speculating whether or not they have any plans to formally tie the knot. However, if the Instagram story of one of their acquaintances is to be believed, Cyrus and Hemsworth might just have taken the opportunity to get married over Christmas 2018.
Conrad Carr posted a photo and video to his Instagram Story which showed the couple holding a knife while cutting a cake. The two of them are both dressed in formal attire, and Liam's brothers, Chris and Luke both make an appearance. As if that wasn't intriguing enough, eagle-eyed viewers spotted balloons that clearly read “Mr” and “Mrs” in the background of the video.
These images seem to corroborate with statements made by a source close to the couple, who allegedly told OK Magazine that: "[Miley] and Liam feel like their engagement has gone on forever and they both decided, at the same time, it was time to wed already ... They got back together after their big break-up by hanging out in Byron Bay with Chris and Elsa, and Miley feels like it would be good luck in their marriage if they married there."
Last week however, Miley seemed only too happy to overshare, after she commented on a particularly NSFW Instagram image macro, and inadvertently revealed something pretty private about her man. The raunchy image stated that no man has all five of the following attributes: "Good d*ck game, empathy, height about 5'9, no hoes and common sense." Miley then commented on the post by stating: "Mine does! Don't give up!" Wow; TMI Miley!
The couple has also had to deal with some pretty serious loss this year, after their US home was destroyed in the devastating California wildfires. In a recent interview, Miley stated: "Liam posted on his social these love letters that were physically left at our house. We had these big gorgeous letters that said ‘love’ when you drove up to our house and they actually made it through the fire … and that’s literally and physically all that’s left so I felt that was really poetic. You can always rebuild a physical structure, but that love that can’t be destroyed is always there and always stayed strong so that gave me a lot of light during a dark time."
So have the couple really gotten hitched, or are people just making a big deal over nothing? I guess that only time will tell ...
