Madonna shares ultra-rare photo of all six of her children at hospital named after her daughter
Madonna's musical hey-day might be well and truly over, but that doesn't stop the 59-year-old singer from making an impact in the world. She's still releasing music (though nothing will ever beat Like A Prayer), and she's also taking her hand at the celeb beauty and skincare products with her MDNA line.
But she's also busy playing "Soccer Mom" to her six kids. While two of them are already grown up, Madonna currently lives in Lisbon, Portugal, with her family and spends her time like any mother - carting her kids to and from sports practice and piano lessons. The Hung Up singer is relatively private about her family life, though does like to share highlights from her home too.
Madonna gave birth to her first two kids and adopted four children from Malawi thereafter. Madonna had her firstborn, 21-year-old Lourdes Leon, with fitness trainer Carlos Leon. Rocco Ritchie, 17, has Madonna and Guy Ritchie for parents.
David Banta and Mercy James, both 12, were adopted by the singer from Malawi, and last year she confirmed the adoption of 5-year-old twins from the East African country, named Estere and Stella.
And just now, Madonna has shared an incredibly rare photo of her and all six of her children standing together. She's currently visiting Malawi, and all six kids were with her during a visit to a hospital there that was named after her daughter. They visited the hospital located in Blantyre to celebrate the one year anniversary of the pediatric hospital's opening.
The family is photographed standing happily before a colourful mural of a tree at the hospital. "Tree of Life..... Mercy James Pediatric Hospital! One Year Later! #everythingislove #malawi art work by @jacarandaschoolfororphans," Madonna wrote in the caption.
In the snap, she’s standing between David Banda and Mercy, both 12, who are flanked by 21-year-old Lourdes Leon and Rocco Ritchie, 17. Twins Esther and Stella, 5, stand in front of Madonna.
The Mercy James Centre was opened last year by Madonna's charity, Raising Malawi. The 59-year-old shared a selection of other pictures from her visit to the hospital, gushing about the incredible work they do there.
The hospital is named after her 12-year-old daughter, Mercy James. Judging by Madonna's Instagram posts, it seems Mercy has a talent for music as well, taking to the keys of the piano like a pro.
It seems Mercy and the twins are partial to throwing shapes in the kitchen from time to time too...
Meanwhile, David plays for Benfica's youth team in Lisbon.
Lourdes appears to be doing well professionally as a model these days, and we can't help but notice how identical she looks to her mother in her younger years.
And 17-year-old Rocco was spotted enjoying the London pubs a few weeks ago, where we're assuming (ahem) he's not drinking an alcoholic beverage.
Well, it seems Madonna's kids are all doing well, and it's nice to see them all hanging out together with their mother.
