For the last year or so, Meghan Markle has been most prominently known for her relationship with Prince Harry; and, now that the pair have tied the knot, it is likely to remain that way for the foreseeable future. However, before she got shacked up with a member of the British monarchy, Markle was a famous figure in her own right.

Back in 2o13, for instance, she was recognized for her role on Suits, and subsequently scored a lot of interviews with those who were keen to know more about her acting career. Unfortunately, though, as a recently re-surfaced clip shows, not all of Markle's chat show experiences were particularly enjoyable - and some of them could even be considered as downright creepy.

In a clip from a five-year-old interview with Craig Ferguson on the Late Late Show, the former actress can be seen recoiling slightly after the host commented on her "strangely hairless body."

Yeah, it was weird.

The interview began in a fairly normal way, though it took on a distinctly awkward tone when Ferguson, who is 20 years Markle's senior, admitted that he had never seen an episode of Suits. The actress then did her best to explain the plot of the show and her role in it, which prompted Ferguson to ask a little more about her background in real life.

She then went on to talk about her experience working for the US embassy in Argentina, traveling to France, and visiting people in Canada. Despite her travels and somewhat international lifestyle, though, Markle assured the host that she was in fact a local to the city of Los Angeles.

"I'm born and raised here in LA," she said, before adding jokingly: "yes, I'm one of the five, you can pinch me I'm real. See?"

Ferguson did not hesitate to grab at Markle's arm and, once he had, reached out for a second time. "I just want to do it again," he said. The actress laughed at this, prompting Ferguson to make the cringe-worthy comment: "[that's a] strangely hairless body you have."

He then proceeded to say: "Quite the dolphin, aren't you? You're absolutely hair-free. Are you a competitive swimmer?"

"I'm not but if I were to be one I think I would get some speed there," Markle quipped, clearly trying to move on from the topic with as little discomfort as possible. And it works, sort of, because Ferguson then goes on to share an anecdote about a time in which he decided to shave his entire body in order to go for a swim.

However, the damage was already done, and now people are flocking to see the re-surfaced clip in order to witness the creepiness for themselves.

"Craig Ferguson is such a creep... So embarrassing for Meghan Markle," one viewer tweeted.

"OMG! I'm horrified by this creepy and sexist interview of Meghan Markle by Craig Ferguson," commented another. "The poor girl had to endure his sexual advances the entire interview and couldn't get a word in edgewise! LIKE EW!!!!"

It has to be said, though, that Markle handled the whole situation incredibly well, and - looking back now - it seems she always had the sense of poise and proper demeanor that one would expect of a duchess.

Plus, now that she's living a slightly more monitored life in the confines of the royal family, it's unlikely that anyone will be throwing such uncomfortably personal questions at her again. Phew!
