Newly-engaged Hailey Baldwin reveals every detail of her 'clean diet'
I've always wondered: what must it be like to be Haley Baldwin? To be a model at the top of her game, the envy and attraction of many? To be engaged to Justin Bieber? Unless I'm unfortunate enough to be afflicted by a witch's curse and have my own Freaky Friday moment, I'm never going to be able to find out.
So I'll have to settle for finding out how she lives, and try to emulate her as much as possible. Sound good? A quick glance at her Instagram page will tell you pretty much all you need to know about her selfie game, and take a look at her modelling gigs with the likes of Tommy Hilfiger for a sense of her style.
But how - how - does Hailey Baldwin like to eat to keep that figure? I genuinely wish that her body was achieved with little more than donuts, pizza and beer, but sadly, life is unfair that way. Speaking to Elle magazine, Hailey Baldwin explained how she ate for her awesome lifestyle, and here are the cliff notes for your reading pleasure.
"I try to be very strict about eating just for my skin and my body," Baldwin revealed, but also admitted that she's more than open to breaking the rules once in a while - especially when she goes on holiday. "I did go to the Maldives not too long ago. I felt like that was super-lavish, indulgent. I was eating whatever I wanted when I was there because you've got to take advantage of those moments."
Okay. Assuming she's not in the Maldives, how does Hailey Baldwin like to eat? As you might expect for a model, Baldwin keeps it pretty clean - steering well clear of sugar, and avoiding pesky gluten for some flawlessly flawless skin. But that doesn't mean she doesn't let loose once in a while. Let's break it down, shall we?
For breakfast, Hailey Baldwin usually likes to go for something light and breezy, choosing to start with some healthy protein to keep her chugging away through till lunch. "On a regular day, breakfast is usually eggs or oatmeal, some type of healthy protein, or a smoothie," she revealed.
Then, what actually happens when she gets to midday, and the rumblings in the stomach are beginning to make their return? Simple: "Lunch is usually salad, fish, grilled veggies, or maybe a sandwich. I don't really eat a lot of gluten so I'm trying to be particular. I love a good kale caesar salad with no croutons. That's usually one thing I leave out."
Then, as the day winds down and she heads home (presumably to hang with Justin Bieber), it's dinnertime. What does she go for then? Well, wouldn't you like to know?
"Dinner is usually kind of along the same lines [as lunch] — some sort of vegetable or pasta, a gluten-free pasta. Chicken, maybe. Sometimes I'll do dessert. I really like the Magnum bars, obviously that's a great one. But I generally try to avoid sugar. Sugar's a big one for everyone, I think."
Ooh, dessert, Haley? Very naughty, I must admit - but if you think that's where the indulgence ends for Hailey Baldwin, you'd be sadly mistaken. Every now and again, Baldwin feels like a cheat meal and when that happens, there's only one rule: "the first thing that I crave, I'll eat."
"So if I wake up and I want pancakes, I'm gonna eat pancakes. If I want a cheeseburger for lunch or for dinner, I'm gonna eat it. If I want fries, I'm gonna eat the fries."
Sounds like my kind of gal.
