Meghan Markle has been defended after people accused her of demanding that a woman move away from her husband, Prince Harry.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan, attended the Sentebale Polo Cup in Miami, an annual event aimed at supporting Sentebale, the charity Prince Harry co-founded back in 2006.

The atmosphere was festive as Harry led the Royal Salute Sentebale Team against the Grand Champions Team, ultimately emerging victorious, with Meghan proudly presenting him the trophy amid cheers from the crowd.

Prince Harry's victory on the polo field was not the only highlight of the day. The match itself was filmed by a Netflix camera crew, offering a glimpse into the world of professional polo as part of an upcoming series produced by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

However, it wasn't all smooth sailing for the royal couple. Video footage that surfaced after the event captured a moment of discomfort as Meghan appeared to request a woman in a white dress to adjust her position for a photo op with Prince Harry.

The exchange, albeit brief, caught the attention of those who are critical of the Duchess.

Some branded the exchange as "awkward" and others went as far as to call out Meghan for "only [thinking] about herself" and questioned "why [she] was up there in the first place".

Check out the moment below:

People were on hand to defend the Duchess from the online trolls, as one person said: "[Meghan] is beautiful and Harry looks happy. Now everyone just go and mind their own business."

A second person said: "Why do people come on here with hate, if you don't like them don't come on their page scroll on!!"

A third person defending Meghan added: "Nothing wrong with that at all. The woman can’t breathe without someone criticizing her."

Offering a different perspective on why Meghan appeared to not allow the woman to stand next to Harry, some theorized that the Duchess wanted the woman in question to be in the middle of the picture, to give her her moment.

In other Meghan-related news, she and her husband have secured a lucrative deal with Netflix - which follows the polo event where the aforementioned incident takes place.

Prince Harry's series will take viewers on an immersive journey into the realm of polo, with a spotlight on the US Open Polo Championship in Wellington, Florida.

Offering "unprecedented access to the world of professional polo," the series aims to capture the intensity surrounding the sport.

Meanwhile, Meghan will lead a series exploring lifestyle topics such as gardening and cooking, integrating with her brand, American Riviera Orchard.
