In a world where a lot of the men in the public eye have turned out to be harassers, monsters or just all-around jerks, there's one man who in the eyes of the public just keeps getting better: Keanu Reeves.

In years gone by, when we look back at this Year of Our Lord 2019, we will say: "2019 was definitely the year of Keanu Reeves," and between John Wick 3, Toy Story 4, Cyberpunk 2077 and even real-life Keanu Reeves, he's just been the best of us all, really.

But so awesome has Keanu Reeves been for so long, it's only fair that the star of the Bill & Ted, The Matrix and John Wick trilogies gets the recognition he deserves, and to that end, this latest petition makes perfect sense.

While some people have been clamouring for stupid things - like for the last season of Game of Thrones to be rewritten - we've finally found a decent cause on Change.org, where people want Keanu Reeves to be crowned TIME's Person of the Year. About time, too.

"Keanu is the most wholesome person alive, make him the person of the year!" says hero of the people Jackson Beem, and although it only needed 1,000 signatures to pass, people have answered the call of duty and the petition currently stands at around 26,000 - though by the time you read this, it could be at any number.

Even better, the man dubbed the "internet's boyfriend" has got plenty of comments on his petition, with the likes of "Elon Musk" (I'm genuinely unsure if it's the real Elon Musk - either possibility is equally likely) saying: "Keanu Reaves took my spot but he still good."

"I wholeheartedly support this petition," said Lena Ricken. "Someone as wholesome and good needs to be appreciated in today's society. Much [love] to our breathtaking, immortal smol bean."

We love you, Keanu Reeves. We're not even , but I can't honestly see anybody beating you to the title of TIME's Person of the Year. It's going to have to be somebody incredible, that's for sure.
