Plus-size model shows off billboard to prove her high school bullies wrong
School can be a hard place for everyone. Your hormones are raging, you're finally beginning to feel flutters of desire for the opposite (or same) sex, and on top of all this, you're expected to study, not to mention navigate complex social structures to find your BFF's.
Unfortunately, teens also have to contend with something else: bullies.
Whilst every American high-school movie depicts bullies to be thugs who enjoy getting physical by the lockers or stealing your lunch money, in the majority of cases, bullies just hurl verbal abuse. And no, it's not all "sticks and stones", because as anyone who has ever been bullied will testify, words really can leave lasting scars.
If you've ever been bullied, I'm sure that you'll be familiar with the feeling of really wanting to prove the bullies wrong. And that's exactly what plus-sized model, Sonny Turner did on Twitter...
Sonny is an up-and-coming model based in London, and it's safe to say that her career is going swimmingly well at the moment.
She recently became the face of Evans, a popular plus-sized clothing chain in England. Just pop into any of the brand's stores and you can see Sonny's face plastered on billboards. So what did Sonny do? She took some pictures of the billboards and posted them on Twitter, with the best caption ever.
The 19-year-old model slammed all the haters past and present by declaring: "TO EVERYONE IN SCHOOL WHO SAID I WASNT S**T AND LABELLED ME WEIRD AND 'DIFFERENT' THIS ONES FOR U".
Twitter naturally went mad for the pictures and the sentiment behind them. The Tweet has garnered over 37,000 retweets and 140,000 likes since it was posted on Monday afternoon.
This is not the first time that Sonny has blown up the internet. The model went viral last month when she posted a heartfelt tirade on her Instagram account about how swimwear designers fail to cater for curvy body-types. Sonny realised the problem when she was trying on swimsuits in a clothing store in London, failing to find anything that would cater for her hips, breasts and butt. She wrote:
"Changing rooms can be scary places. I am wearing the largest size from one of the most popular high street stores sells in bikinis which is 12-14. High street store bikinis do not cater for women of my body type. Majority of online stores don't either. NO ONE GETS IT so for any upcoming designers I got come tips for u"
She then went on to list ways in which designers can cater for fuller figures, and her advice was absolutely spot on. She spoke to big-breasted women everywhere when she gently reminded retailers that some women have breasts which are larger than a DD cup and she also totally got us when she hilariously added: "we're gonna need you to stop using models with fake boobs that aren't a real depiction of what the bra would look like on our real droopy one".

BIG BREASTS NEED UNDERWIRE FOR SUPPORT FOR A YOUTHFUL LIFT
WE NEED CUP SIZES THAT CORRELATE TO BRA SIZES AND THEY NEED TO GO PAST DD
WE NEED CUPS THAT ACTUALLY COVER MORE THAN OUR NIPPLE
WE NEED CUPS THAT BRING OUR BOOBS TOGETHER SO THERES NOT A MASSIVE GAP IN-BETWEEN THEM
WE NEED STRAPS THAT AREN'T SO TIGHT ITS AS THOUGH OUR NECK IS ABOUT TO SNAP OFF
WE NEED BIKINI BOTTOMS THAT DONT GIVE IS WEDGIES WHEN WE WALK
WE NEED STRING BIKINIS THAT DONT EXPOSE OUR VAGINA LIPS
WE NEED SWIMSUITS THAT FIT OVER OUR HIPS WITHOUT DRAGGING THE NECK OF THE COSTUME DOWN CAUSING NECK ACHE
WE DESERVE MORE CHOICE IN THE SELECTION FOR OUR BODY TYPE THAT ISN'T JUST THE GENERIC BLACK SWIMSUIT WITH A KIMONO
YES BELIEVE IT OR NOT , SOME OF US ACTUALLY WANT A THONG BIKINI , THE WHOLE SELECTION DOESN'T HAVE TO BE HIGHWAISTED
WE'RE GONNA NEED YOU TO STOP USING MODELS WITH FAKE BOOBS THAT AREN'T A REAL DEPICTION OF WHAT THE BRA WOULD LOOK LIKE ON OUR REAL DROOPY ONES
ITS NOT FAIR THAT WE CANT WALK WEAR CUTE SWIMWEAR JUST BC WE ARE BUILT DIFFERENTLY. WE DESERVE TO WALK INTO A STORE AND PAY £10 FOR A NICE BIKINI WITHOUT BREAKING THE BANK AND OUR BODY CONFIDENCE.
#everyBODYisbeautiful bottom line is: MAKE CLOTHES FOR ALL SIZE & BODIES."
Sonny's definitely a model to look out for. Between her outspokenness and killer good looks, she will undoubtedly go far in the cut-throat industry.
