Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have shared a never-before-seen image of their first child, Archie, to commemorate Father's Day.

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born on the 6th May, and the first picture of him surfaced two days later. Now, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared a new photo of the child on their Instagram account, Sussex Royal, in honour of Father's Day. The adorable sepia-toned picture sees Archie behind held by his father, while he looks straight into the camera.

"Happy Father’s Day! And wishing a very special first Father’s Day to The Duke of Sussex," reads the caption.

The couple, who married last May, announced the pregnancy in October of 2018, on the first day of their royal tour of Australia and New Zealand.

The child will be seventh in line to the throne, behind Charles, the Prince of Wales, William, the Duke of Cambridge and his three children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis - and Harry, the Duke of Sussex.

This was the incredible moment Meghan felt her unborn baby kick whilst presenting an award:

"We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz," a representative wrote on the couple's Instagram page.

"The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives. More details will be shared in the forthcoming days."
